CRMO Awareness Virtual Walk-A-Thon/5K - The Rising Phoenix

This is new to us all.

For those of you who do not know, it has been a rough summer for Phoenix. This extremely athletic boy went from stomach pains to bone aches that prevented him from walking for three weeks. After two scary months, multiple ER visits and hospital stays Phoenix was finally diagnosed with CRMO. No one had heard of it, including our pediatrician!!

CRMO (Chronic Recurrent Multifocal Osteomyelitis) is a rare and serious disease. It involves inflammation of one or more bones that can be chronic. For Phoenix this has affected both wrists, multiple vertebrae, both femurs, both tibia, both ankles and a clavicle. Symptoms can come and go. The typical onset is 8-10 years but we are not sure how long he will have to endure this.
