My name is Demitrea Kelley and my daughter Mikayla is 10 years old; she was born with Sickle Cell Disease (SS) and has been hospitalized dozens of times since she was born. She had major surgery and struggles from complications with Sickle Cell at a very young age. I have dedicated my life to Sickle Cell Awareness and Advocacy with hopes of finding answers/a cure for those suffering with this painful disease.
Mikayla serves as part of the Walk committee with me and loves it! Supporting the Martin Center Sickle Cell Initiative and others like her that live with Sickle Cell.
