24th Annual Dash for Dignity - The HaberDASHers

Welcome to The HaberDASHers 5K Dash page!

I originally joined the Board of Trustees at Achieve because I believe in Achieve's mission of assisting adults with disabilities, including veterans, find and sustain meaningful employment.

By way of background, I grew up with a sibling, Chris, who had an incurable disease known as Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy ("MD"). Seeing his struggles brought perspective to my life and underscored the impact that simple achievements most of us take for granted can have on a disabled individual. Unfortunately, my family lost him in February of 2016 at the age of 29. His love of life in the face of such adversity served as a lesson that my family and I will never forget.

Volunteering my time and energy to such an amazing organization as Achieve is something I believe helps me carry on Chris's legacy and assist those less fortunate than myself. Seeing the impact that Achieve has had on the individuals they serve reminds me what it means to truly be good stewards of humanity.
