About the Event: The 5K Run/Walk is designed for the whole family!  The proceeds from this event will benefit the Medal of Honor Host City Program.  The funds raised will be utilized to continue our mission of hosting Medal of Honor Recipients and to help support our Medal of Honor Host City Museum located at North Central College.  Our program seeks to honor the courageous achievements and heroic efforts of our Medal of Honor Recipients who fought to preserve our nation’s freedom and to pay homage to the principles which the Medal of Honor represents…. Duty, Honor, Country.  Through engaging exhibits, educational programs, and community outreach, the museum will inspire future generations to embody the values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism exemplified by Medal of Honor recipients.  

Race Day 5K & Fun Run:

• Packet Pick-Up: Gainesville Civic Center | 311 S. Weaver St., Gainesville, TX 76240 | 11am - 3pm
• Registration: 6:30 a.m.
• 5K Race: 7:30 a.m. 

Registration includes Official race bib, *T-shirt, Veterans gift bag, Medal of Honor sticker and more.

Participants can sign up to run or walk prior to the event or at 6:30 a.m. on the same date as the event.

Join us after the 5K for:

1. 10am: The annual Medal of Honor Parade through Historic Downtown Gainesville down California/FM-51 starting at 10am at the Santa Fe Depot, ending at the intersection of California and Weaver St. 

2. 12pm - 2pm: The annual Book Signing at the Gainesville Civic Center. NEW this year-- as you wait your turn to meet with Recipients, explore the Veteran Resource Fair with helpful information and education to help Veterans with all things post-military life.

3. 1pm - 5pm: Wine and Art Stroll, hosted by the Downtown Gainesville Alliance with help from the Gainesville Area Visual Arts members. For more information, visit https://gainesvillewinestroll.com/

The registration pricing is as follows:

• $30 5K: now through March 21, 2026 Early Bird Discount!
• $40 5K: March 22nd-April 18th 
• $45 5K: April 18th (Race Day)
• $20 5K: Children under 12 – now through April 18^th (Race Day)
• $20 5K: Students – now through April 18^th (Race Day)

*Registration received by March 18, 2026, will receive an event T-Shirt. T-Shirts will be on a first come, first serve basis after this time and may not be available in all sizes or at all!
