FDIC Courage and Valor 5K - 13th Annual - CANCELLED

It is with great sadness that we share that FDIC International, originally scheduled to take place on April 20-25, 2020, at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis will be cancelled.

We have been putting the health, safety and wellbeing of our team, customers, partners, family and friends above all other priorities and those values remain most important to us. In light of both governmental direction and general public health advisories a face-to-face event is not possible at this time with the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the government issued Public Health Emergency throughout the State of Indiana.

We look forward to coming together for FDIC International 2021, April 19-24 at the Indiana Convention Center & Lucas Oil Stadium, in Indianapolis, Indiana stronger than ever, holding steadfast to the same commitment. We thank everyone for their ongoing support and understanding.

 About The Event

A 5K Run/Walk - competitive and non-competitive. The event is part of FDIC International (Fire Department Instructor's Conference). The event is open to everyone.

All proceeds go to help sponsor the Ray Downey Courage and Valor Award, which commemorates the life and career achievements of firefighters who risk their lives for the citizens whom they serve. This award is presented each year to one outstanding firefighter at the FDIC convention.

 Information

The 13th annual FDIC Courage and Valor Fun Run/Walk will take place Thursday, April 23 at 6 PM at the White River State Park located just a short walk from the Indianapolis convention center.

The scenic flat fast course winds around the canal and provides runners & walkers with an absolutely safe (no traffic crossings) and scenic opportunity to enjoy a brisk fun run/walk.

Timing and management of the event is going to be handled by Tuxedo Brothers for the more serious runners among us. For the rest of us it's a chance to get out and show our commitment to good health and well-being. FDIC is where leaders go to train. If we say we are leading the fire service, then we need to lead by example.

The event will conclude with a short presentation where the awards will be given out near the finish line to the top finishers of the event.

 Shirts

Nicely designed shirts will be given to all pre-registered participants that sign up by Sunday, April 19.

Note: Shirt size/availability are not guaranteed to those that do register online AFTER April 19, and it will be first-come first-served for those registering on raceday.
