Dear Prospective Vendor |
Dear Prospective Vendor,
Enclosed you will find an application to be a vendor in “de Molenmarkt Arts & Crafts Market” at the 2026 Fulton Dutch Days Festival. Also enclosed are the rules & regulations for the arts & crafts market.
We are transitioning from open registration to a juried show starting with the 2026 festival. We made the decision to end open registration for new vendors and go to a jury format due to ongoing problems with too many vendors registering who offer substantially similar products to other vendors.
Vendors who were not registered as vendors in last year’s festival will be treated as “new vendors” even if you vended with us in other years.
You must submit photographs of your booth setup or your product lines with your application or in advance. This can be done either by attaching photographs to your paper application or by emailing photographs to the arts & crafts coordinator at fultondutchdays@gmail.com
You will be notified whether your application has been accepted, denied, or placed on a waiting list for space availability.
Optional Friday Night Extended Hours
Our friends with the Fulton Fun Crew host an annual Dutch Days kickoff party at the base of the windmill on Friday evening. This unique venue provides a backdrop for a live band as well as a beer garden. The path to the windmill goes through the vendor area. You are welcome to remain open during the kickoff party. While we do not require our vendors to remain open for the kickoff party, we would like to encourage you to do so as this presents an opportunity for you to make additional sales.
Information about our Festival
Founded in 1835, Fulton, Illinois is a small community situated on the banks of the Mississippi River. Dutch migration to the community began about 30 years later and continued into the 20th century. Many of the town’s roughly 3,500 inhabitants still trace their ancestry to those Dutch immigrants.
The Fulton Dutch Days festival began in 1974 to showcase our community’s Dutch heritage. It takes place annually on the first full weekend in May. In addition to the arts & crafts market, the festival features food vendors, children’s activities, exhibitions, a wooden shoe carver, Dutch folk dancing and costume show, a car & tractor show, and more.
Festivalgoers can also explore local attractions, including a frontier historical village built in an abandoned quarry, a windmill museum, our downtown businesses, and the pride of our riverfront – de Immigrant.
Built in the Netherlands, disassembled, shipped by sea, and reassembled in Fulton 26 years ago, de Immigrant is our town’s windmill. De Immigrant sits atop the town’s protective dike. If the winds are right, the mill’s sails will be operation, turning the millstone and grinding grain into flour.
Our arts and crafts vendors line the path to de Immigrant. Starting in 2026, we have given the market its own Dutch name “de Molenmarkt” which translates to “the windmill market” in the Dutch language. De Molenmarkt averages 65 to 70 vendors, spread out over 90+ booth spaces.
De Molenmarkt is a two-day show. Vendors should expect dramatically higher crowds on Saturday versus Friday, especially if the weather cooperates and gives us a nice day. Crowds vary from year to year, but you should expect several thousand people to move through the festival area from beginning to end.
