A 501c3 non-profit organization, GRACE Cancer Foundation was established in 2008 by Julie Pfeifer and Lisa Willman, two Grand Island, Nebraska breast cancer survivors who had a heartfelt need and desire to help local cancer patients and their families in their fight with this deadly disease. The organization was originally named The GRACE Foundation, with GRACE standing for Grand Island Area Cancer Endowment. In 2018, for the organization's 10th Anniversary, it was re-named GRACE Cancer Foundation. Julie and Lisa's hope is to provide not only emotional support but funds available through GRACE to assist with unique financial obligations and unmet needs for those fighting ALL types of cancer. GRACE Cancer Foundation assists cancer patients who live within 40 miles of Grand Island, Hastings, or Kearney, or who are being treated at the Grand Island, Hastings, or Kearney Cancer Centers. Help is available through several methods, such as gas cards, assistance with medical bills, household expenses, and more.

GRACE Cancer Foundation positively impacts the lives of cancer patients and their families in Central Nebraska.

Race for GRACE was started in 2010 as a fundraiser for the GRACE Cancer Foundation. The purpose of the race is not only to raise funds to assist cancer patients in our area, but also to be an event to celebrate, honor, and remember those whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Awards are given to the top 2 male and female finishes of both races, so 1st and 2nd place female runners of the 2 mile and 10k and the 1st and 2nd place male runners of the 2 mile and 10K.

Please note that times for virtual runners will not be included in the finalized Race for GRACE results.

Add an on-course Butterfly to honor loved-ones either taken or impacted by cancer. These messages displaying your loved ones names can be placed on either the 10K or 2 Mile course.

Butterflies can be purchased for 1 for $5, 2 for $8, 3 for $10, 4 for $15 or 5 for $20.
These can be purchased when registering for the race.
