Get ready to run your best race with the NIFS Mini-Marathon Training Program, a comprehensive 12-week journey designed for success. We’ll get you ready—physically and mentally—through expert planning, guaranteed camaraderie, and a structure that welcomes all ability levels. You don’t need a NIFS membership to participate, so this is the perfect opportunity to train with a friend! Our program includes:
· 12-Week Training Plan: A structured, easy-to-follow regimen built specifically for the Mini.
· Weekly Group Training: Guided runs and walks from NIFS and the surrounding area every Wednesday at 6:00 PM.
· Accountability: Support and motivation from dedicated pace leaders.
· Injury Prevention: Essential education clinics, cross-training guidance, and tips to keep you healthy.
· Swag & Perks: A custom participant shirt to wear with pride.
· Race Day Prep: Critical pre-race tips and a supportive send-off ahead of the May 2 race.
· Victory Dinner: A well-deserved Post-race Celebration Dinner on May 6, 2026.

The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) is a not-for-profit organization governed by a board of trustees. NIFS was established in 1985 and opened its doors with the help of grants from the Lilly Endowment, Inc., the State of Indiana and the City of Indianapolis. November 1, 1988, marked the dedication of the 117,000 square-foot facility and the opening of the Fitness Center, which serves more than 4,000 members.

- All payments are non-refundable after January 31, 2026. Credit may be applied to other programs or services or transferred to another participant.
 
- To safely participate in the training program, we recommend you be able to hold a minimum 16-minute mile pace for at least 2 consecutive miles.
