Full Moon Trail Run – Friday, October 3, 2025

Join us for the 14th Annual Full Moon Trail Run at Lewis Park & Trails! Every fall, we gather under the light of the full moon for a one-of-a-kind night run (or walk!) through this hidden gem on Springfield’s west side. With tiki torches lining the trails and flashlights in hand, it’s a fun, laid-back way to support a beautiful local park.

This event is free, but donations are encouraged—proceeds go directly to trail upkeep and park maintenance. LPT is run by a nonprofit and relies on events like this to keep the park thriving.

Events will take place rain or shine.

Deadline: Online registration closes at *11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 1st*

Lewis Park & Trails

Lewis Park & Trails (LPT), formerly Lewis Memorial Acres, was a generous gift donated by Irene Lewis in 1984. In her will, she wished to provide the land to create a Christian park for the community. The forty acres represent a beautiful prairie and wooded setting for recreation, relaxation, and reflection. The park is governed by a non-profit board that oversees the maintenance and development of the park. If you are interested in assisting with LPT please contact any of the event volunteers.

Event Route

Run: ~3 miles through prairie and wooded trails
Walk: ~1 mile, family-friendly loop

Walk starts ~5 minutes after the run

Trails are marked and lightly technical—watch for roots, ruts, and a few logs!

Bring a GOOD flashlight or headlamp—this is a must! Reflective gear adds to the fun and keeps everyone safe.
