Event Details

You're invited to register for the May 3rd, 2025, Art Festival. The registration fee is $20, and we require samples of your work beforehand. Please send examples of the work you will be bringing to amiller@canyontx.gov. This letter provides key event details and guidelines.

Event Details:

* Event: Art Festival in Collaboration with May Market
* Date: Saturday, May 3rd, 2025
* Displaying Artist Check-in: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM at 1605 4th Ave, Canyon, TX 79015
* Artist Set-up: 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM, First Baptist Church Ministry Center Parking Lot
* Live Painting Artists will be assigned to designated businesses around the square
* Festival Hours: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM (no tear-down before 6:00 PM)
* Clean-up: Artists must clean their area.

Festival Theme:
A family-friendly event celebrating creativity and community.

This registration form is for artists only. Vendors interested in setting up a booth for May Market will need to contact Canyon Farmer's Market.

Guidelines for Artwork

To maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all ages, we kindly ask that all artwork adhere to the following guidelines:

Family-Friendly Content:

* Artwork must be suitable for viewing by children and adults of all ages.

* Please refrain from displaying depictions of violence, gore, explicit sexuality, nudity, or any content that could be considered offensive or disturbing.

* Political or controversial statements that could divide the community are discouraged.

* Depictions of drug use, alcohol abuse, or other harmful activities are prohibited.

* Respectful representation of all people is required.

Appropriate Mediums:

We welcome a wide range of mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital art, textiles, and other visual arts.

The use of fire, harmful chemicals, or any materials that could pose a safety risk is strictly prohibited.

By registering for the Art Festival, you are agreeing to adhere to all Art Festival Guidelines.

Display and Set-Up:

Displaying Artists will be given an amount of space equivalent to the size of a vehicle parking spaces where they can show case 2-3 pieces of their art.

Those artists who are live painting will be placed in front of various businesses around the square. Demoing artists may display and sale an additional 2-3 pieces of their art.

Those assignments will be given to artists at check in on the day of the event.

* Artists are responsible for providing their own display equipment (tents, tables, easels, stands, paints, etc.).

* All displays must be visually appealing, secure, and safe.

* Please respect the allocated space provided to you.

* NO live painting in the parking lot of FBC Ministry Center

* If you are selling art, please clearly mark the prices.

* We will be using the FBC Ministry Center parking lot for artists to showcase their work and artists how demo will be assigned a business store front to paint in front of.

* Live Painters will be responsible for their own easels and equipment and must ensure paint does not get all over the concrete, if a spill does occur you are responsible for cleaning up the mess.

Sales and Liability:

* Artists are responsible for their own sales and sales tax transactions.

* Artists are responsible for their own property.

Confirmation and Withdrawal:

* Please confirm your participation by April 21st by filling out the registration form.

* If you need to withdraw, please notify us as soon as possible

* Refunds will not be given

* Content: Family-friendly for all ages; no violence, gore, sexuality, nudity, offensive content, political/divisive statements, or depictions of harmful activities. Respectful representation of all people is required.

* Mediums: Acceptable mediums include painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, mixed media, digital art, textiles, and other visual arts. No open flames. Only odor-free solvents.

* By registering, you agree to these guidelines.

Artist Information:

* Display Space: Displaying artists get 1 parking space-sized areas in the Ministry Center parking lot.

* Live Painting: Live painters will be assigned spaces in front of businesses around the square and can sell their work there.

* Artist Supplies: Artists provide ALL of their own display equipment, including tents, tables, chairs, easels'.

* Display Requirements: Displays must be visually appealing, secure, and safe, and stay within the assigned space. Feel free to be creative with your space. No live painting is allowed in the FBC Ministry Center parking lot.

* Sales: Artists handle their own sales and sales tax.

* Liability: Artists are responsible for their own property.

* Live Painting Clean-up: Live painters are responsible for cleaning up any paint on the concrete.

Confirmation/Withdrawal:

* Register by April 21st, 2025
* Notify us ASAP if you wish to withdraw; no refunds will be given.
