Final Stu's 30K & Relay
Join us on March 2 for the final running of STU’S 30K. Yes, you have read that correct- the FINAL RUNNING of STU’S 30K!!

Based on the recent passing of our race founder, Stu Thurston, and the continuous, even before COVID decrease of participants for Stu’s 30k, the Race Directors recently made a presentation before the CMS Board and it has been decided that the March 2, 2025 race will be the last running Stu’s 30K.

A lot of time was involved exploring and evaluating a number of ideas- adding a 5k or 10k, taking out the relay, changing the date/time- just to name a few, however it makes sense for us to finalize this memorable, 45-year tradition of Stu’s around ‘The Rez’. Our desire was to run on a positive note and cross the finish line with one last hurrah.

This year’s race will feature the same, not so exact 18.641-mile course that everyone has come to love (??), a 2, 3, or 4-person relay option, time to reminisce with friends, great snacks provided in the Clinton MS cafeteria, medals for all, and perhaps the opportunity to select some nostalgic Stu’s bling. In addition, the first 300 registered runners will also receive a ‘this is a one and only’, commemorative shirt that is still in the designing process.

November 28 -30 $55 Individual, $45 per relay team member
December 1 – 31 $60 individual, $50 per relay team member
January 1 - 31 $70 individual, $55 per relay team member
February 1 - 28 $80 individual, $60 per relay team member
March 2 (Race day) $100 individual, RELAY SIGNUP CLOSED

Sunday, March 2. Race day check-in and registration begins at 9:30am. Race starts at 11 a.m.

From 495 N/S take Exit 26, left on Rte 62 towards Clinton/Berlin. Follow Rte 62, Take right on Rte 62/70 and follow into Clinton, left on Rte 110. Clinton Middle School on left.

From 190 N/S take Exit 5, 140 South. Take left on Rte. 12/110, then right on 110. Clinton Middle School on right.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are registering as an individual, please enter n/a in the relay team and relay team members fields. The registration will not go through if the fields are left blank.

Distance race

30k and 2-4-person relay

PLEASE NOTE: The relay exchange points are at fixed locations for safety reasons. Exchanges must take place only at those locations. This means that if you are considering forming a three-person team, one of the members will need to run two of the legs while the others each run one.

Course

Rolling Hills with some gradual hills loop on paved roads around Wachusett Reservoir. Please note the roads are open and there will be water stops every 3-4 miles. We encourage people to carry their own nutrition.

There will be NO early start for this race.

Swag

Race Swag will be given to the first 250 participants. So don't delay.

Amenities

Free Parking. Water Stops approximately every 3 miles. We always advise you to run with your own nutrition. Porta-Potties on course. Well-marked and monitored course. There will be limiting post-race refreshments to a box lunch. We will also have limited raffle prices. There will also be on site medical staff.

Awards

Awards to top finisher male and female. We will also age group awards to the FIRST in the following categories: 18-29, 30-39, Masters, Seniors, Veterans, and 70+.

There will also be awards for the first 2 person, 3 person, and 4 person relay team to cross the finish line.

Refund/Cancellation Policy - READ CAREFULLY!

Due to the nature of event management there are no refunds, no exceptions. We reserve the right to cancel, or shorten the race due to inclement weather or unsafe conditions. Every attempt will be made to hold the race but CMS in collaboration with the Town of Clinton and the Clinton Police Department will make the final decision about whether the race course is safe for runners, monitors, and vehicular traffic. The entry fee is non-refundable, check the CMS website at www.cmsrun.org.
In case of any catastrophic change in circumstances that prohibit us from having an in-person race, we cannot offer refunds and will offer a virtual race option instead.

Also, it will not be possible to grant any deferrals because this is the final Stu's 30K. Please bear this in mind when signing up. Be sure to consider your fitness level, training, work schedule, family obligations, etc.
