About the Event |
Introduction
The Raider Athletic Booster Club is honoring Troy Nelson, Raider Super Fan in our first annual 5k & Fun Run. Troy loved all things Sunnyvale Athletics and we loved his cheer of "D-D-D Defense.” We couldn’t think of a better person to honor in our first #RaiderRun than this avid super fan.
Nelson was more than just a super-fan. He was a captain for the Sunnyvale Fire Department, a paramedic, active member at Community Life (Clife) Church and a role model to many people. He was the proud husband of Kay and father to Jamie & Kellie and grandfather to Sadie, Stella, Caleb and Shepherd. As a community, we feel the loss of his presence since his passing in November of 2023. We know he’d be proud to have you here supporting our spring athletes as they kick off their track season, so mark your calendars for February 8th and come run with our Raiders!!

The #RaiderRun 5K & 1 Mile fun run is designed for the whole family!!!
The event will benefit the Raider Athletic Booster Club whose purpose is to assist Sunnyvale Independent School District athletic programs in preparing student-athletes for competition during their middle and high school years as well as to offer scholarships to student-athletes at the post-secondary level.
In short, we want to raise more, so we can give more. Raider Athletic Booster Club’s purpose is to assist SISD athletic programs in preparing student-athletes for competition during their middle The event will be coffee, light breakfast items, etc.

Registration: 7:30 a.m.
5K Race: 8:30 a.m.
Fun Run: 8:30 a.m.
Registration includes Official race bib, *T-shirt
T-Shirts are guaranteed through 1/30/25 at noon. Tees are on a first-come, first-serve basis after this date and may not be available in all sizes or at all. Please register early!
