Course |
The course will start Marengo Boys and Girls Club proceeding down SR 64 passing Marengo Cave. It then heads directly to the underground tour at mile 1 doubling back to finish just outside at the festival. Features include the underground, rolling hills, and scenic small town Indiana charm. By far the coolest both in temperature and in novelty.
The warehouse features several back and forth hairpin turns eventually leading down a corridor of offroad-like but smooth terrain. The entry point is shortly after the 1 mile interval where the indoor portion is right at 2 miles in total. Inside you will find good lighting, good temperature, and fast and flat terrain. A destination race that will offer major relief from the hot summer and a scene like none other.

Questions and Answers |
Q: Is this an actual cave?
A: This is 58 acres of underground warehouse with major roads throughout. It is as cool as a cave without the interior decor to go with it. Marengo Caves entrance IS on the race route, and they are a proud sponsor if you'd like to tour local caves on race day!
Q: Can spectators walk the underground portion to cheer on participants?
A: No, the underground is a secure area and capacity is based on run/walk participants only. The insurance also does not account for spectators inside the venue. However, you can cheer at the entrance/exit.
Q: What is the temperature inside?
A: Temperatures inside are around 54 degrees, the same as local caves. It will feel great on a hot July day.
Q. Where is the course map?
A. Due to the high-security nature of the warehouse, we will only show the outside portion of the course.
Q: Can I get lost in the "cave"?
A: The course will be lit, marked, and monitored. If you follow the cones, markings, and volunteers you will have no problem. If you venture off the course, then you could find yourself in a place you do not want to be so please obey all volunteers and course instructions.
