For his senior project, Thomas Koch invites you to join us for a morning run or walk in the country surrounding Lovejoy High School in Lucas, TX just east of Allen, TX.
The 1K Fun Run will start at 8:00 AM followed by the 5K at 8:30 AM. Our certified 5K course is a fast course and takes you through scenic countryside that includes a pond and open grassy areas; or if you prefer, you can choose our 1K Fun Run which will now begin at the arch!
The 5K will be chip-timed by Chip-2-Chip Race Timing.
The 5K Race will begin and end just in front of Lovejoy High School Stadium. Most of the 5K race is a scenic run along Rock Ridge Road.
The 5K is a certified and flat course! This is a good race to get your new PB (personal best)!

Event Beneficiary |
We have taken on the task of continuing the tradition of Running Over Depression to help raise awareness for suicide prevention as well as helping heal those who have lost loved ones to suicide. Running Over Depression has raised over $40,000 for depression research, and we are looking forward to working with you to up those totals this year!
We will be teaming up with the Grant Halliburton Foundation this year, to make the event even bigger in hopes of reaching more people and making a positive impact in the community.
Grant Halliburton Foundation was established in 2006 in memory of Grant Halliburton, a Plano West high school graduate who battled depression and bipolar disorder for several years before his suicide at the age of 19. The Foundation that bears his name works to help families and young people recognize the signs of mental illness through a variety of avenues including mental health education, resources, and support.
Grant Halliburton Foundation offers a variety of education programs, presentations, and an annual conference on mental health, suicide prevention, recognizing the signs of depression, stress management, building resilience, coping skills, and other issues impacting youth mental health. Since 2006, Grant Halliburton Foundation has provided mental health education, training, and support to more than 325,000 students, educators, parents, and professionals.
All proceeds from the run will be donated to the Halliburton Foundation to strengthen the network of mental health resources for children, teens, and young adults; to promote better mental health; and to help prevent suicide.
