A note from the committee chair

Potential, the ultimate contradiction, the greatest blessing, the biggest curse. The very word defines promise and hope, but also disappointment and even despair when not realized. Potential without action, without effort, without determination, is only that, a concept bereft of depth and meaning.

We who gather here today, we who brave the elements, who dare to challenge our own physical capabilities, realize the magic of what is possible not only for what lies within us , but what can serve to transform and inspire others. Potential becomes the greatest blessing, not only when that first step, but also the next, which is the ultimate proof of our determination.

From our effort we enable the joy of doing, seeing the path that we have created. The purest form of joy is not what we create for ourselves, but what we give to others, for it is returned and magnified. But it all begins with the first step, yours. Your support changes that small piece of the world we inhabit for the better, especially for those less fortunate here.

Thank you, and God bless you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Mark L. Sorice

General Event Information

The Turkey Trot is a 5K run/walk held every year in Greensburg, PA on Thanksgiving Day. This event was created by five friends who ran every day at lunch.
