Race T-Shirts: Available shirt sizes are listed during registration. Registration must be received by midnight on Friday, September 1, 2023 to be guaranteed a shirt. Not all sizes may be available for registration past that date.

Visit the T-Shirt table after 10:00 AM for shirt exchange if you are interested in trading out the size you ordered for a different size, if available.

Picking Up Race Materials/Packet for Another Participant is permitted.

Race Day pick-up is available but not recommended as race morning is very busy with parking, warming up, and getting to the start line. If you are picking up your packet or registering on race morning, please show up earlier than normal to allow time to do so. We will not be able to process new registration once the race starts.

The Step ‘n Salutes Green Beret 5K will start on the Little Miami Bike Trail near Fleet Feet and travel south 1.55 miles and turn around and return to the start.

OVERALL AWARDS - Top 3 Male and Female Overall Winners will receive awards.

They will be presented at the Awards Ceremony following the 5K or can be picked up once all results are in. Awards will NOT be mailed to award winners.

AGE GROUP AWARDS – Top 2 Male and Female in the following Age Groups will receive awards: Under Age 20; Ages 20 – 29; Ages 30 – 39; Ages 40 – 49;
Ages 50 – 59; Over 60 – 69; Over 70

They will be presented at the Awards Ceremony following the 5K or can be picked up once all results are in. Awards will NOT be mailed to award winners.

Online results will be available through www.timingspot.com. In addition, if we have a cell number, text results will be send after crossing the finish line of the live event.

Nisbet Park is located in the heart of downtown Loveland. Parking is available on the city streets near the park.

Additional Parking is available in the Linda J. Cox Parking Area by the East Loveland Nature Preserve.

Free Gear Check will be available near the start line of the race. Please DO NOT leave valuables, cash or jewelry in your gear bag. The Event is not responsible for any lost items. Gear bags must be claimed before 11:00 AM on Race Day.

Can I walk the 2023 Steps n’ Salutes Green Beret 5K?

• Yes, the event is walker friendly. Walkers and runners of all ability levels are encouraged to participate.

Are baby joggers and strollers allowed in the Steps n’ Salutes Green Beret 5K?

• Yes, baby joggers and strollers are allowed for the Steps n’ Salutes Green Beret 5K. It is asked that joggers and strollers begin at the back of the race behind the runners.

• Yes – Someone may pick up your packet at either packet pickup location.

• Yes, that can be done at packet pickup.

What is the cancellation policy?

• The Race Director and Loveland Police have the authority to cancel or delay the event for any reason such as extreme weather, accidents, city emergency, etc. No refunds or deferrals are allowed.

• There is no time limit for the Steps ‘n Salutes Green Beret 5K
• The race will start promptly at 9:30 AM.

Who receives a finisher’s medal?

• Every individual who crosses the finish line will receive a finisher’s medal.

Does the money from this event benefit a special cause?

• Funds raised this year are being targeted to meet the rising needs of the Special Forces Regiment - the long-term medical care and quality of life needs of injured, ill, and/or disabled Green Berets as well as the unique needs of their caregivers.
• The Green Beret Foundation is a national veteran charity and the only organization with the specific mission to fill any gaps in the Green Beret and their family’s lives during and after deployment. The Green Beret Foundation invests 87 cents of every dollar into its five core programs that provide emergent, immediate, and ongoing support to cover the costs of tools, resources, and healthcare not provided by the Department of Defense or Veterans Affairs. Funds raised from this event will help meet the long-term medical care and quality of life needs of injured, ill, and/or disabled Green Berets, as well as the unique needs of their caregivers.
