Please join us for the 23rd annual running of Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5K benefiting the Cancer Support Community South Central Indiana (CSCSCI), powered by Bloomington Health Foundation. Hoosiers Outrun Cancer is one of the oldest and largest 5K events in Indiana!

Hoosiers Outrun Cancer (HOC) proudly supports members of our local community who are fighting cancer including patients, their family, and their friends. Cancer Support Community South Central Indiana assists – at no charge - those in our community with needs beyond clinical care: wellness classes, art therapy, individual counseling, patient and family support groups, transportation assistance and more. Over the last 21 years, HOC has raised nearly $4 million to maintain these necessary resources right here in the South-Central Indiana. These services would not be available without the generosity and continued commitment from you and our community partners and sponsors.

OPTIONAL PURCHASE OF ADDITIONAL EVENT TEES
There is an option to purchase additional event tees during the registration process for $15. These tees are available in all sizes but are not available in the Survivor/Warrior RED color. This option is available ONLY for ONLINE EARLY registrations (ends September 16th). Any additional event tees you order will be included for delivery with your race day packet.

OPTIONAL UPGRADE TO TECH/PERFORMANCE FABRIC EVENT TEE
There is an option to purchase an upgrade to a TECH/Performance fabric event tee during the ONLINE registration process for an additional $10. These tees are available ONLY in ADULT sizes and not available in the Survivor/Warrior RED color. This option is only available ONLINE and only until September 6th.

VIRTUAL REGISTRATION OPTION
There is an option to make your registration VIRTUAL for $5. What that means is that you would like to pay to have your race materials mailed to you. This option is available for ONLINE EARLY registrations (ends September 16th). When you choose the VIRTUAL registration option your packet will be mailed the week of the race and delivery by race day is NOT guaranteed. The VIRTUAL registration option is not intended for participants who plan to attend the event in person.

AWARDS
FUNDRAISING AWARDS - Hoosiers Outrun Cancer has awards for various individual and group fundraising categories.

TEAM AWARDS - There are 7 categories of TEAM awards. The awards are given to the team in each category with the largest number of registered participants. Team awards are a handsome trophy that is engraved with your team name and award category. Team awards categories are the largest Cancer Survivor team, the largest K-12 school team, the largest IU team, the largest Community team, the largest IU Health team, the largest business team, and the largest Bloomington Hospital team. Go to the results page of the hoosiersoutruncancer.com website to see all of the past winners. All of the Hoosiers Outrun Cancer TEAM awards will be presented as part of the pre-race ceremonies.

Don't forget that SPIRIT Runners (paid registrants who want to support HOC in SPIRIT but cannot attend in person) count towards your teams total registration for TEAMS awards AND they are also entitled to the very special event tee with their paid registration. So register everyone and anyone you can to win your TEAM's category!

TIMED RUN AWARDS - 5K and Kids 1 Mile
All participants in the 1 Mile Kid's Fun Run/Walk receive a participation award, typically a ribbon or wrist band handed out by members of the Indiana University Football Team.

The Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5K Run awards are as follows:
The OVERALL Male and Female winners: $50 dollars and a free entry into the 2023 Hoosiers Outrun Cancer
The OVERALL Male and Female winners who are a Cancer Survivor or Warrior: $50 dollars and a free entry into the 2023 Hoosiers Outrun Cancer
The Male and Female winners of each Age Group: a TBD gift valued at $25 dollars and a free entry into the 2023 Hoosiers Outrun Cancer

Age groups are: 12 and under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

Awards must be picked up at the event. No awards will be mailed, shipped, or delivered.
