Details |
Come explore the amazing trail system at Martin's Access County Park, located in Cherokee County Iowa! The park trails offer gorgeous views with rolling terrain along the Little Sioux river. The trails provide an exceptional experience for everyone, no matter your skill level. The Run will include a 10k run, a 5k run/walk and also a kid's run.
Race check-in will be at the main shelter, located at the South Entrance to Martin's Access. Check-in will be available from 8:00am to 8:40am.
Aid stations and restrooms will be available at the start/finish line. We will also have water and sport drink available during the run and at the finish.
Unique prizes will be presented to the men's and women's overall winner. Each runner will also receive complimentary "bragging rights" for finishing a challenging course.
Course |
The course will take place on the trails through the rolling hills at Martin's Access. The trail conditions will vary from grass to dirt and from wide to single track, but all of them will be scenic. The race will start and finish at the modern cabins, located near the South Entrance to the park. Our goal will be to have the course well marked, but not to take away from the experience of exploring a trail in the forest.
Directions |
The race will take place at Martin's Access, which is about 13 miles NE of Cherokee, off of C-16. The start/finish are located at the South Entrance of Martin's Access.
For those of you traveling from Cherokee, take HWY 59 north, once you pass through Larabee, turn east onto C-16. Travel 4.4 miles east, then turn south onto Martin's Access Road. There are two entrances to the park off of Martin's Access Road, a North entrance and a South entrance. You want the South Entrance, which is well marked.
Proceeds |
All proceeds are donated to the Cherokee Trails Committee for their use in preserving, improving and expanding Cherokee's trail system.
