Introduction |
Jarid Taylor Memorial 5K & 1M Fun Run
Supporting C.O.P.S.
(Concerns of Police Survivors)
1st Annual Jarid Taylor Memorial 5K & 1M Fun Run
Saturday, July 31, 2021, 8:00a.m.
N 2nd & Evergreen, Durant, OK
Jarid was a Bryan County Sheriff’s Deputy who lost his life in the line of duty on January 14, 2020. He was in route to a 911 call when he was in a fatal car accident. Although he loved his job, he was much more than a police officer. Jarid’s greatest accomplishment was being a Daddy to two beautiful children. He loved to deer hunt, watch OU football, and had the best sense of humor. Jarid leaves behind family and friends who loved him dearly who want to always honor and remember him for the wonderful person he was.
C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) is an organization that assists family members and co-workers of fallen policers officers with resources to help them after experiencing such a tragic loss. C.O.P.S. is hosting an event during the month of July called, Cops Why in July. This event is a challenge to others to complete 491 minutes of activity throughout the month of July to honor the fallen officers from 2019 and 2020.
The money raised from the 5K & 1M Fun Run will be donated in Jarid’s name to help support the C.O.P.S. organization and their mission to assist families and co-workers of fallen officers.
It is my hope that the Jarid Taylor Memorial 5k & 1M Fun Run will be an event that not only helps bring our community together in support of our local law enforcement, but allows those who participate an opportunity to remember Jarid and celebrate both his life and birthday which is July 28th..
