Event Details |
We are excited to bring back the 7th Annual Father Jerry 5K in 2021!
This year's event will take place on Saturday, August 21st at Musgrove Park. Over the years, the FJ5K has become one of the largest 5K races in Southeastern Illinois with 300-400 participants each year. Our goal is to bring this great event back up to speed and fill Musgrove Park with racers walkers, and first time fun runners once again.
Net proceeds will help fund new cross country and track uniforms, plus purchase new equipment for SJS athletes.
Registered participants will receive:
- An awesome 2021 FJ5K t-shirt
- A Race bib with chip timing (for 5K runners)
- Post race overall and age group awards
- Finisher's medal (for Fun Run participants)
- Post race snacks and drinks
* The guaranteed t-shirt cutoff date is August 1st at 11:00 PM. Please be registered by this date to guarantee you will receive a race shirt.
* Thanks to a very generous grant from the Carrie Winter Trust, the first 125 Richland County youth registrants are FREE!
* EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION- we will have a prize drawing for all who are registered by 7:00 PM July 25th.
We look forward to seeing you on August 21st!
“We do this to remember his energy, enthusiasm, strength, & love for being active. May his example lead us to keep moving, doing good deeds for others, living the faithful good life, and always...walking or running...humbly.” In loving memory of Father Jerome Wirth 1941-2013.
