UPDATE NEW CDC GUILDLINES
WE WILL RUN THIS EVENT ACCORDING TO THE NEW CDC GUIDELINES AND STATE OF IOWA GUIDELINES.
1. Update that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance
2. Fully vaccinated people can: Resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance
3. We will have an Award Ceremony after the kids fun run for those that wish to stay. You may pick up your award once results are posted if you do not wish to stay. **Please see Race Director Designee for awards after the race**
4. Prairie Hill School will be open for bathroom facilities and race number pick up.
5. NO WAVE START, we will start the race with everyone leaving at the same time. The race timing chip is on your race number and your time will start as you cross the timing mat. Please wear your race number for an accurate race time. Please seed yourself with fastest runners up front.
6. Masks will not be required. Each participant can decide if they want to wear a mask.
7. Limited snacks will be available, plenty of water and Gatorade will be provided.
Optional race number pick up and late registration at Central Fire Station Friday May 28, 6:30pm -8:30pm is encouraged to help limit large crowds the morning of the race.

Event Day Schedule :

• 8:25 AM - Start of Wheelchair Race and Firefighter 5k Challenge
• 8:30 AM - Start of 5K Run/Walk
• 9:30 AM - Firefighter Half Mile Fun Run
• 9:40 AM – Award Ceremony.


PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED, NO registration on race day.

COVID INFORMATION: As of April 13, Linn County Health Public Health still has a mask mandate for Linn County. (additional information will be updated as it becomes available)

2021 Race will take these precautions.
1. We will have registration outside. The school will only be open for bathroom use, and we will provide porta potties outside also.
2. We will attempt to have a wave start to help prevent large groups of people gathering to close. Waves will start approximately 30 seconds apart. Remember the event is time chipped. Your time starts when you cross the start mat.
3. No food will be provided, Water and Gatorade will be available for all participants.
4. Please wear a mask at all times when not running the race.
5. There will be no Awards Ceremony after the race. The award winners will be contacted and arrangements will be made for delivery or pick up.
6. After you finish your race you may get the print out from the Kauder Racing with your time and finish.
7. All final results will be posted on Kauder Racing @ www.kauderracresults.com and CRFD Memorial 5k facebook page.
8. Registration will be limited to 500 participants. Please pre-register to help this event run smoothly without causing long lines or a late start.
9. Please avoid standing in large groups if not from the same household.
10. Optional race number pick up and late registration at Central Fire Station Friday May 28, 6:30pm -8:30pm is encouraged to help limit large crowds the morning of the race.
11. There will be NO Registration on Race day Morning. You may register Friday night 6:30pm -8:30 pm at Central Fire Station.

1st, 2nd & 3rd Place Firefighter Challenge - complete the 5k wearing Turnout Gear, Helmet and SCBA.(tennis shoes are allowed, no face piece required and Liner may be removed from coat and pants)

Participation Medals - The 1/2 mile fun run is open to ages 10 and under. All finishers will receive a Brett Henderson Memorial Jr Firefighter custom medal. There is no charge for this fun run. Show up at the start line
