Changes have been made to the 2020 four mile race due to COVID-19’s Phase 4 social distancing requirements.

If the FOLEPI River Trail Classic needs to be cancelled due to COVID-19 reopening phase reversal the race will be held virtually. Packet pick-up hours will be extended: Friday, November 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 28th from 7:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. If you cannot make either of these times arrangements will be made so you may receive your shirt and finisher’s medal.

All registrations must be done online.

Virtual event
Virtual runners will have from Saturday, November 28, 2020 to Thursday, December 31, 2020 to run their race and be able to post their times on this page. After submitting their times, a confirmation email is sent containing a link to print the virtual finisher's certificate. Virtual runners will pick up their packet at packet pickup from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, November 27th and 7 to 10am on Saturday, November 28th.

$40 pre-registration fee received by October 17, will include correct size, 1/2 zip, long sleeved with thumb holes and back zippered pocket technical running shirt.

Shirt sizes not guaranteed after October 17th. Limited availability of shirts on race day.

$20 for run or walk only, no shirt.

Scenic, mostly downhill, point to point 4 mile run on the East Peoria River Trail of Illinois. Transportation is provided from the Fondulac Park District Administration Center, 201 Veterans Drive, East Peoria, to the starting line on Frevent Road from 7:45 to 8:40 a.m. No dogs allowed on course.

In person races must be done in groups of less than fifty participants. Because of this requirement, each bus load of runners will make up one group. The first bus will leave the park district administration building at 7:45 a.m. The runners will be unloaded at Frevent Road. The runners will start shortly after arriving, approximately 8 to 8:10 a.m. There will be an official starter at the starting line and the clock will start with this group. When the next bus arrives, the official starter will determine if enough time has past from the previous group. The official starter will then start the next group. This will continue through the last bus, which will leave the park district administration building at 8:40 a.m. All runners will start between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. The race is chipped timed and there will be a starting mat so each runner will get an accurate race time, but watches are highly encouraged since the finishing clock will have started with the first group. Please wear masks on the bus, masks are not required for the run.

The restrooms and warming building at the starting line will be open for use and a sag wagon will be available. If you miss starting with your group or if you drive to the starting line start with the next group. Each bus only holds 40 people so we will remain below the 50 participant starting threshold.

Walkers bus leaves the park district administration building at 8:15 a.m.

Walkers will begin walking when unloaded. No dogs allowed on course.

Mickie’s at 1051 E. Washington, East Peoria, IL will have pizza ready for all runners and their supporters and beer to those 21 years of age or older starting at 8:45 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
