|Why We Run|
This “living memorial” 5K run and 1 mile run/walk is dedicated to the 53 Nebraska soldiers killed liberating St. Lo, France in World War II with the Nebraska National Guards’ famed 134th Infantry Regiment. The race will start/finish at the Nebraska National Guard Museum. Along the route, runners will see memorials to each soldier and get an opportunity to meet veterans and family members of the regiment. You will run the exact distance the regiment fought when they entered the lines and fought to the liberation of the city!
The Seward Kiwanis, the Seward 4th of July Committee, and the Nebraska National Guard Museum Historical Society will have the Annual “Run to St. Lo Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Run/Walk” at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Nebraska National Guard Museum located at 201 North 8th Street in Seward, Nebraska.
After both races have finished, awards will be given to participants and cookies/fruit/drinks will be available.
