To our valued participants,

In a state of national emergency due to COVID-19, EMS personnel and resources are needed now more than ever. We also must adhere to guidelines issued by local, state, and federal agencies. Therefore, we must postpone the fifth annual Run with Shears 5k to 9/5/2020.

After this time of uncertainty subsides, EMS along with all our healthcare partners, will emerge stronger and more unified than before. We will rise to the challenge, overcome, and heighten our preparedness for whatever comes next. We care for patients. We care for one another; and we will hold the fifth annual Run with Shears 5k this year. The unity is more important now than ever before.

The Run with Shears 5k would not be possible without your participation. Our relationship with you is important to the success of this endeavor and transparency is a value we take seriously. These are uncertain times and we don’t have a clear picture of what mass gatherings will look like for the foreseeable future. Your options are:

• Keep your registration valid and participate this year on 9/5/20
• Defer your registration to the 2021 race. You will not be automatically registered. You will receive a code via email to redeem next year.
• Donate your registration fee to our memorial foundation. Our mission is to build a statewide EMS memorial and advance the profession of EMS.

On behalf of the board of directors, we sincerely appreciate your understanding, and we look forward to the possibility of our biggest year yet this fall. As soon as a plan is secured, we will communicate to you directly.
