Join 1,600 of your closest friends and start your Independence Day off with a 5K or 10K at the Lenexa Freedom Run. This is a family-friendly event celebrating our country’s independence. We welcome runners, walkers and strollers in the race.

We give awards in 15 categories, based on electronic chip times. Race time receipts are available at the end of the event.

We give out awards once we can finalize the race results at the end of the event. If you are unable to stay for the awards and are a winner in one of the categories, you may pick up your award at the Lenexa Community Center up to two weeks after the race.

5K awards
We give plaques for first place and medals for second and third place in the following age categories:
13 and under
14 to 17
18 to 20
21 to 24
25 to 29
30 to 39
40 to 49
50 to 59
60 to 69
70 to 79
80 and older

10K awards
We gives plaques for first place and medals for second and third place in the following age categories:

There are two options for picking up your race packet:

1. July 3, 2019: from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Lenexa Community Center, 13420 Oak St., Lenexa, KS 66215

2. July 4, 2019: from 5:30 - 6:45 a.m. at the Lenexa Community Center, 13420 Oak St., Lenexa, KS 66215

Family or friends are allowed to pick up your packet for you. They will need to provide your last name for verification.
