The Hopkins Royal Tri was ONCE AGAIN named "Race of the Year" in MN (for 2018)
Come be a part of the Hopkins Royal Triathlon held at beautiful Shady Oak Beach, on the border of Hopkins/Minnetonka, MN. Compete in a traditional sprint distance, or for those newer to the sport or who have limitations, try our shorter mini-sprint option, where you choose either the longer or shorter distances. Either way, you'll be treated like royalty!

Triathlon Race Day schedule: |
6:45 transition area opens (body marking, timing chip pick up, and set up)
8:00 pre-race meeting and singing of the National Anthem
8:15 sprint distance race begins (time trial start)
9:00 mini-sprint race begins
approx. 10:45 awards ceremony and door prizes (must be present to win)

Sprint distance ($60)
750 yard swim (sandy beach, clean deep water w/ no boats)
13 mile bike ride (triple loop, w/ some hills)
5K run (fast and mostly on a flat shaded trail)
Mini-sprint distance ($45)
100 yard swim (face it, either you can swim or you can't)
4.5 mile bike ride (shorter and flatter, enough said)
1.75 mile run (bad knees? You can crawl this if need be)
