🚴‍♂️ Tour of the Mississippi River Valley (TOMRV) 🚴‍♀️

TOMRV returns in 2026 promising an unforgettable, challenging adventure for cyclists.

This two-day event offers a perfect blend of challenge and beauty. TOMRV, organized by the Quad Cities Bicycle Club, is celebrating its 47th year in 2026.

This popular event has attracted over 1,000 cyclists annually, who come to ride the scenic and challenging roads along the glacier-carved Mississippi River Valley. From flat stretches to steep bluffs, TOMRV offers a variety of terrains that challenge riders of all levels, from competitive racers to fitness enthusiasts. In addition to well stocked sag stops we also have bike support on route by certified bike mechanics.

Event Details:

• Day 0: Friday, June 5, 2026.  

We will have packet pick up in Bettendorf.  There is a block of rooms at the Isle Hotel / Casino.

Isle Hotel / Casino - Booking

RVs can park at the Isle. WE are working on a camping option in Bettendorf.

Participants can also camp overnight at Northeast High School in Goose Lake, Iowa. There will be additional information provided closer to the event with this overnight option. Vehicles can be left at the high school parking lot by anyone participating in TOMRV.

Please be advised that the route may change up to the day of the event, due to construction or other road closure events. We will do our best to keep our registrants informed of any route changes when we get closer to the day of the event.

Route: Day 1: Covers approximately 105 miles from Bettendorf to Dubuque, IA, with a shorter route option available.  The shorter route starts at Goose Lake, IA and is approximately 70 miles. Day 2 is an approximate 100mile return leg to Bettendorf or opt for the shorter route ending in Goose Lake which is about 47 miles.  Routes will be shared on our webpage.

Day 1 Highlights:

Start:  The Isle Hotel/Casino Bettendorf in Bettendorf, IA or Northeast High School in Goose Lake, IA.

Route: Scenic ride along the Mississippi River with rolling hills.

Rest Stops - Saturday (tentative):
Princeton
Miles
Bellevue
St. Donatus

Rest stops will be well-stocked with trail mix, fresh fruit, peanut butter sandwiches and more. There is a lunch stop in Bellevue that will include sandwiches.

Overnight Stay: At Loras College in Dubuque, IA, with a buffet dinner.  The college will offer a variety of overnight accommodations from camping (tent or RV) to reserving a dorm room for a fee. The college will also have shower options and overnight secure bike storage.

Day 2 Highlights:

Depart Dubuque, IA and return to your starting location either Bettendorf or Goose Lake.  Route: Gradual climbs out of Dubuque through the Mines of Spain continuing south along the Great Mississippi Road.

The return route to Goose Lake is approximately 47 miles.

Return Route to Bettendorf is approximately 100 miles.

THERE WILL NOT BE ANY TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS (Shuttle or SAG) BETWEEN GOOSE LAKE AND BETTENDORF.

The money raised from TOMRV is used to support our Mission: It is the mission of the Quad Cities Bicycle Club to promote, encourage, and support, the safe participation in bicycle riding of all ages and abilities, as well as to anticipate and address the needs and interests of all aspects of bicycling in the Quad Cities area. Cost:  Early Registration is $219 per person until May 31 and $229 per person from June 1 to the day of the ride.

What is included in my registration fee?

Bike support on the route by certified bike mechanics.
4-6 (depending on route) well stocked sag stops at intervals on the route each day.
Baggage transportation from Bettendorf/ Goose Lake to Loras College on Saturday then service back to the Goose Lake and Isle Hotel / Casino Bettendorf on Sunday.
Live Music (tentative) at Loras College. Buffet Dinner Saturday night and grab and go breakfast Sunday morning at Loras College.
Secured Overnight Bike Storage.  T-shirt to commemorate the ride. Raffle Prizes

Free Parking at the Isle Casino / Hotel Bettendorf. No need to worry about parking fees. Just pull in, find a spot, and you're all set for the night.

Convenient Location: The east side parking area is easily accessible and close to the casino entrance, making it a breeze to get in and out.

Safe and Secure: The casino area is well-lit and regularly patrolled, providing a safer environment for your vehicle.

Cars may be left overnight at Northeast High School in Goose Lake.

Participants may also camp at Northeast High School in Goose Lake. Please follow the signage to know where you will be able to camp. Outside restrooms should be available as well as a water spigot on the outside restroom.

At this time we are still working on a camping option close to the Isle Hotel / Casino for ride participants. Please continue to follow the Facebook group for information.

RVS, Campers can camp at Isle Casino/ Hotel Bettendorf Parking Lot. Please note there are not any amenities.

We have a variety of overnight accommodations for Dubuque. If you plan to stay at Loras College, you will sign up for that on the registration page.

1.  RV & Camper Parking at Loras College in a lot.  There will not be any water or electric hookups.  All generators must be shut off at 10pm due to local ordinances.  cost is $30.00 per RV
2.  Dorm Options (if sharing a room, one person will book and pay for the accommodation.) cost varies based on type of room selected.
3.  Hotels in Dubuque - There are no hotel blocks reserved. At this time, we cannot guarantee transportation to a hotel from Loras until we recruit more volunteers.

Yes, E-bikes are allowed. An E-bikes is a bicycle that can be run on electric power as well as by pedaling.
