Capital Pursuit is a premier late summer race that takes participants through the streets of downtown Des Moines and by the beautifully tree lined streets near Drake University campus before finishing on a gradual downhill. Both the 5K and 10 Mile races start downtown at 15th and Locust and end at 10th and Locust by the beautiful Western Gateway Park.

The Pursuit Junior Race for kids ages 4 - 12 will start near the finish line.

5K and 10 Mile Start time: 8:00 am
Pursuit Junior Race:
Ages 4 & under: 10:00 AM - run approximately 100 meters
Ages 5-8: 10:10 AM - run approximately 250 meters
Ages 9-12: 10:20 AM - run approximately 400 meters

$35 (Strider member)

10 Mile:
$50 (Non-Strider member)
$45 (Strider member)

Top 3 male/female runners for the 10 Mile and 5K races will receive cash prizes

Top 3 age group male/female in the 10 Mile race and 5K races will receive gift cards

Pre-registered 10 mile and 5K participants will receive a quality beautiful tri-blend short sleeve shirt.

10 mile finishers will receive a finisher's medal.

Youth size shirts are replaced by XS for 10 mile and 5K races

Pursuit Junior participants will receive a short sleeve cotton t-shirt.

Post-race party and awards ceremony with lots of great door prizes!
