About the Event |
On September 11th, 1297, Andrew Moray and "Braveheart" William Wallace led their Scottish countrymen to victory in the first battle for Scottish Independence against England at Stirling Bridge over the River Forth. After the events of September 11th, 2001, we here in the United States now celebrate September 11th as Patriot Day. A fitting coincidence that the Scottish Patriots fighting alongside Braveheart also likely celebrated September 11th as a day of great patriotism!
Kicking off the Sherman Celtic Festival and Highland Games will be the Braveheart 5K and the Rob Roy Fun Run/Walk (1M). The event will be a road race through Historic, Downtown Sherman, TX .
Entry fee for the Braveheart Race is $25 during early registration and includes an event t-shirt with goodie bag. Late registration will be $30 and race day will increase to $35. REGISTER EARLY!!!!
Each participant will get tickets to the Celtic Festival the following weekend. We are hoping to get William Wallace again this year for the run.
