Join hundreds of athletes on Sunday, July 30 at White River State Park in the 16th annual TRI Indy Triathlon & Duathlon!

TRI Indy consists of an Olympic triathlon, a Sprint triathlon, and a Sprint duathlon. There is also a 2-3 person Olympic triathlon Relay.

Utilizing the picturesque canal of Downtown Indianapolis and the streets traversing the city's cultural and historic landmarks, TRI Indy offers participants a challenging and memorable course.

All participants who pre-register by July 23 will be guaranteed an awesome, soft style T-shirt. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed to race week registrants.

Participants must complete the swim by 9:30am, complete the bike by 10:30am, and complete the run by 11:45am. If unable to do so, the race organizers reserve the right to shorten competitors' swim, biking or running portions.

IMPORTANT: There is no official awards ceremony. You may pick up your Overall and Age-Group awards from the Awards Tent beginning at 10:30am. The awards tent is located in the southeast corner of White River State Park.

The Transition Area of TRI Indy is located at Celebration Plaza, at the heart of White River State Park. This large, grassy area is only steps from the swim exit and will give you a great location to start/finish each leg of the event.

This open area is also a perfect for spectators who want to watch the event!

The swim portion of the triathlon will be a point to point course in the beautiful Indianapolis Canal, which is 4-feet deep and 40-feet wide.

We will conduct the swim in a time trial format. Participants will start ONE AT A TIME, every couple seconds, with faster swimmers going earlier.

Olympic Tri - 1,500m swim
Sprint Tri - 500m swim

Participants in the bike will ride through a scenic and fairly flat loop of 12.5 miles (20k), which travels north (along the White River) and up to 38th Street. Once back downtown, participants will ride through the IUPUI Campus.

Expect great volunteer support and police protection along the way!

Olympic Tri - complete TWO (2) loops for 40k
Sprint Tri - complete ONE (1) loop for 20k
Duathlon - complete ONE (1) loop for 20k

The 3.1 mile run course is flat and fast, so expect quick times!

Olympic Tri - complete TWO (2) loops for 6.2 miles
Sprint Tri - complete ONE (1) loop for 3.1 miles
Duathlon - complete ONE (1) loop for 2 miles BEFORE the 20k Bike, then one (1) loop for 3.1 miles

Participants will travel along the west side of the White River from Celebration Plaza, up to 10th Street, and then back along the east side of the river.

Expect a water/Gatorade station every mile along the route.

Full Pre-Race Instructions will be e-mailed to everyone around 9:00pm on Friday, July 28. These instructions will include individual bib # assignments.

Late Registration
---If race has not sold out, participants will have the option to register at Packet Pick Up on Saturday OR Sunday. Prices increase on raceday, so be sure to pre-register!

These events are sanctioned by the USA Triathlon. All USAT rules will be enforced. Please visit www.teamusa.org/usa-triathlon for information on rules and regulations as well as information for those interested in obtaining a USA Triathlon License. The event is limited to ages 14 and above.

Event may be cancelled, delayed or reformatted due to weather, water conditions, or other emergencies. Refunds are ONLY given for the following exceptions
. Volunteering for event
. Serious medical problem
. Military service
. Funeral, etc.

If one of the above pertains, the following refunds may be provided*:
- Refund, minus $10 if notified at least one week in advance
- Refund, minus $15.00 if notified within one week of the event
- Refund of 50% of entry fee if notified after completion of the event

Participant may pay a transfer fee to another event OR another person**:
- $10.00 if notified at least one week in advance
- $15.00 if notified the week of the event

We cannot make our events a great success without our volunteers! Donate you time and help keep our athletes safe. We welcome individuals, groups, church groups, and organizations to join us!

All volunteers receive an event t-shirt and have access to refreshments. We donate back to groups/organizations that volunteer with us for the day.

- Distribute bibs, timing tags, shirts, etc to participants.
- Shift #1 - 1:30pm - 4:30pm

Packet Pick-Up - White River State Park
- Distribute bibs, timing tags, shirts, etc. to participants.
- 5:30am - 8:00am

Body Marking - White River State Park
- Write bib number on participants' arms
- 5:45am - 8:00am

Transition Area - White River State Park
- Assist within the transition area where the bikes and gear are placed. Help participants locate their transition station, give directional assistance during the race, and secure the area.
- 6:30am -11:30am

Gear Check - White River State Park
- Organize and monitor participants' gear during the duration of the race and assist them in picking up their materials upon finishing.
- 6:30am -12:00pm

Bike Course Marshals - (Meet at Major Taylor Velodrome - 3649 N. Cold Spring Rd.)
- Give directional assistance to participants out on the bike course.
- 6:30am - 10:30am

Run Course Marshals - (Meet at White River State Park)
- Give directional assistance to participants out on the run course.
- 6:45am - 11:30am

Water Stations - (Meet at assigned Water Station)
- Pass out water and/or Gatorade to the participants on the course.
- 6:45am -12:00pm

Directional Assistance - White River State Park
- Give directional assistance to participants, spectators and traffic within White River State Park during the race.
- 7:15am -12:00pm

Finish Line - White River State Park
- Help with passing out water, handing out finisher medals, removing timing tags, or preparing refreshment tent for finishers.
