Event Details

Location of Start/Finish:
All race distances will start in the Stadium area above the Bowl below the Nordic Lodge. The Start/ Finish venue will offer full services before, during and after the race including hydration and snacks. There will be an unattended, covered baggage storage area and ample port-a-johns in close proximity to the start. Members of the Mt Bachelor Nordic Ski Patrol will be staffing a medical station in the finish area. A hot soup lunch and beer garden will be available following the race in the Nordic Lodge.

Course:
The measured loop for the 50km and 25km Individual and 50 km Team events is 12.5km; 4 laps for the 50km and 2 laps for the 25km. There is a cut off for the 10km event at the 7.5km mark. The course circumnavigates Dutchman Flat before connecting to the Todd Lake Trail and finishes in the Mt Bachelor Nordic Center trail network on Rich’s Range, the Waterfall Trail, Woody’s Way, the Screamer and First Time Around. (10k cut-off on first lap). The course will be groomed 2 passes wide whenever possible. The course will be available for preview on Friday, March 13, 2020.
The course will remain open during the event and spectators may move carefully along the route to cheer racers on. Course monitors will be stationed at key intersections. The Course will remain open and supported for all skiers until 1:30 p.m.

Aid Stations:
Two aid stations are located at 5.2km and at 12.5km. Aid stations will offer Skratch Energy Drink, Water, oranges, bananas and granola bars. Medical assistance will be available at the aid stations.


Results and Awards:
Printed Name, Age, Time and Place Results for all participants will be available at the Finish Line from Eclectic Edge Timing. Complete race results will be posted in the Nordic Lodge, at the Awards Party and online at onlineraceresults.com/event/view_event.php?event_id=???.

The post-race Awards Party will take place back down at WebSkis, beginning at 5:00pm with Awards starting promptly at 6:00pm. Custom prints, WebSkis Gift Certificates and numerous Merchandise Awards and Gift Certificates will be presented to the Overall Top 3 Winners and all Age Group Top 3 Winners in all distances.

There will also be a giant raffle including equipment, merchandise and services from our industry sponsors. Winners must be present at the time of the raffle to claim prizes!

Pizza, Beer and nonalcoholic beverages will be served at the Awards Party.

Weekend Events:
On Sunday, March 15, Mt Bachelor Nordic Center and WebSkis will present an on snow demo with Salomon, Swix, Madshus, Rossignol and Fisher. Enjoy a leisurely day on the snow trying out all the 2020/2021 skis, boots and poles! Demo Day hours are 9:00am – 2:00pm. Look for the tents adjacent to the Nordic Center Lodge!

Lost and Found:
If you lose an item on the course or at an aid station, every effort will be made to get the item to the finish. Look for the Lost and Found sign adjacent to the timing area. Any items not claimed will be taken to the Awards Ceremony; any items not claimed there, will be available at the Mt Bachelor Nordic Center. The race organizers are not responsible for your equipment and you should not assume that all equipment left on the course will be collected. Unclaimed Race bags and clothing will also be taken to the Awards Ceremony.

Age Classifications:[/b]
Awards will be presented in all age classes for individual men and women in the 50 Km, 25 Km, and 10 Km/Youth races. The skier’s age class will be determined by his or her age on March 9, 2019. Awards will be presented to the top Teams in the following categories: (All Male); (All Female); and (Mixed Male and Female with at least 1 Female).

50/25 Km Age Classes:
Class 1 18 & under
Class 2 19 – 29
Class 3 30 – 39
Class 4 40 – 49
Class 5 50 – 59
Class 6 60 – 69
Class 7 70+

10 Km Age Classes:
Youth Class 1 0 – 14
Youth Class 2 15 - 18
Adult Beginner 19+

Entry Confirmation:
Entry confirmations will be provided for all online registrations from getmeregistered.com. Paper entry confirmations will not be mailed but entrants may click on the athlete search at getmeregistered.com to confirm registration. (Allow one week from receipt of entry to post entry!) Racers will also be able to search the entire field to determine who is in your event and age class.

Race Packet & Bib/Bag Pick-Up:
All entrants can pick up their Race packets and Bibs, along with last minute race information on Friday, March 8, between 4:00 and 6:00 pm at WebSkis (WebCyclery) Ski and Bike Shop, located at 157 NW Franklin Avenue in downtown Bend. Our registration team will be right inside the store.

If you are arriving in Bend after 6:00 p.m. on Friday, you may pick up your bib and race bag starting at 7:30 am in the Upper level of the Mt Bachelor Nordic Center Lodge.

Timing Chips:
Chip timing for the 2020 Cascade Crest will be provided by Eclectic Edge Timing Services. Chips will not be distributed at Registration. Racers are responsible for collecting their personal timing chip on race morning in the Registration area in the Lodge. Timing chips must be secured to your ankle with the attached Velcro strap. Please be aware that the chips must be returned at the finish line. Please allow a volunteer to remove it immediately after you have finished. If for some reason you are unable to finish the race, give the chip to the Chief of Course at the Finish area.

Your entry fee includes participation in the race, aid stations, finish area food and refreshments and an evening Awards Party with Pizza, Beer and soft drinks. All participants receive a custom gift and a goody race bag with other race souvenirs and sponsor related promotional materials.
