Your race registration includes the race, game tickets and fireworks - but you will still have to pay for concessions and apparel bought at the stadium.

Location/Course

The mini-run will be 4 laps inside the stadium, making it easy and safe for children to participate or new runners to conquer a mile.

The finalized course will be available on our website by mid-May, but it will take you from outside of the stadium, through scenic routes along the trail of excellence and back to the stadium where you will finish by crossing the Hardie Group Home Plate!

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup will happen at the Delmar E. Demaree Family YMCA in downtown Kokomo
Friday, June 21 YMCA from 12-3 pm in the community room or
Saturday, June 22 at the Kokomo Municipal Stadium from 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Race Day Information

Day of Race (including times/agenda)
a. Will pictures be taken the day of the race and can they be purchased?
While we will be shooting photo and video to post about the event and to use on the scoreboard during the game, there will be no professional service where you can purchase pictures.
b. Am I allowed to bring headphones for when I am running?
Yes!
c. What do I wear?
Wear whatever is comfortable but please make sure your attire is appropriate since this is a family event!
d. How early do I need to arrive prior to the race start?
Registered participants should arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the race beginning.
e. What day and time is the race?
Saturday, June 22. The order of events:
11:30 am Mini-Race
12:00 pm HomeRun 5K Opening Blessing and Announcements
12:15 pm Starting gun/horn for HomeRun 5K
Post-race activities will start inside the stadium after the mini-race and continue until 2:30 pm. Stadium and field need to be cleared by 3:00 pm but come back to enjoy the game and fireworks!
f. Am I allowed to walk?
Yes! This is a non-competitive, family-friendly run or walk
g. Is there a time limit to complete the race?
No time limit to complete the race, but we will not be allowed on the field after 3 pm.
h. Will there be food or drinks provided throughout the race?
There will be water stations along the route. Other beverages can be purchased inside the stadium during the kids’ race or post-race activities
i. Can parents who don't pay/register for the race still take their kids around the mini-run? Yes. But if they want to go to the game, they must buy tickets.
j. Can parents leave their kids to do the mini-run to do the 5K?
They can only leave their child/children if another parent or caretaker is with them. Children must have an adult present at the mini.

Medical Assistance and Restrooms
a. Where are restrooms?
There will be restrooms along the route and at the stadium. Check the course map for details.
b. Will there be medical assistance along the course?
Yes, there will be EMA presence at this event.

Wheelchairs/Strollers/Dogs
a. Are baby strollers allowed on the course?
Yes - but be aware that the end of the race goes through the outfield, down the first base line, toward home plate so you will be pushing a stroller over those surfaces!
b. What about strollers on the mini-race? Can those be used on the field?
Yes, strollers can be used for both races
c. Can I bring my dog to the race?
Although we love our furry, four-legged friends, dogs will not be allowed at this race.

Parking

a. Where do I park?
In the stadium’s parking (lot to the west or the Apperson St. lot east of the stadium)
b. Do I have to pay for parking?
Parking in the appropriate lots is free

Post Race Information

After Race Activities
a. After the race, can I stay at the stadium?
There will be post-race activities but the field must be cleared for the Jackrabbits’ organization by 3 pm. You will be allowed back into the stadium with VIP early access for the game and fireworks.

Jackrabbits Game
a. The wristband that comes with your entry also gives you VIP early access to the evening game
b. The ticket that comes with your race package is for the Backyard seating which is the open grass areas. If you would like to upgrade to stadium seats, you can do that for just $2. The option will be available online when you register or you can upgrade on the day of the game at the ticket office.
c. After the game, there will be a spectacular fireworks show that’s included - so stick around and enjoy!

FAQ

Age Requirements
a. Are there any age requirements for running the race?
No! Everyone is welcome regardless of age.
b. Can runners of all ages that just want to do the mile do the mini-run?
Yes, but because the entry fee includes all activities for the day, the price is the same.

Non-runners/Spectators
a. If people aren't participating in the race, can they still come to the event and get in the stadium to spectate to cheer on the runners? If you have a child participating in the mini-race, you can participate with them or cheer them on in the stadium. If you don’t have a child participating and you are also not participating, you can still cheer on the runners and walkers at designated spots along the route.

Cancellations
a. Will the race be rescheduled if it is raining?
We will run in the rain; however, severe weather (including lightening) will call for the race to be cancelled. It will not be rescheduled.
b. Will my money be refunded if I decide not to participate?
Be sure you are able to participate in this event before you pay, as entry fees will not be refunded

Lost and Found
a. Will people be able to check their bags/gear? No. We do not have an area to check belongings and are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
