Race Away from Domestic Violence is a 5K (3.1 mile) Walk/Run/Wheelchair roll to benefit the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

We believe that domestic violence is preventable and when we come together, we can create real change in our communities to ensure safe, stable and nurturing relationships and environments for all people. By supporting our RAFDV, you actively support our mission to eliminate domestic violence.

This event is a fundraiser for ICADV, who encourages all participants to seek pledges. Awards will be presented to the three individuals who collect the most pledges. Pledge forms and money may be turned in at the event or to ICADV by June 11, 2019.

We encourage you, either individually or as a team, to create a First Giving page to raise funds to support services for domestic violence survivors. You may create your own page and solicit contributions or sponsor someone else who has a First Giving page.. The process is easy and can be accessed through www.firstgiving.com/event/icadv/RAFDV2019

The start and finish will be at City Market, West Plaza, in Downtown Indianapolis. This 5K course will loop you thru some scenic parts of downtown Indianapolis.

Packet Pick-Up this year will be at the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence office on Friday, May 31. All are welcome to come and pick up their packet between 8:00 AM- 6:00 PM.

Gift certificates to Athletic Annex will be presented to the top 3 finishers in each age group in the 5K (5 year increments). Finisher medals will be given to all boys and girls age 12 and under!

There will be an exhibitor's area that is open before and after the races.

Please, no dogs or skates. Strollers are permissible. You must maintain a 18 minute per-mile for the 5K event. For the Competitive 5K, you will be given an IPICO timing tag on the back of your race bib.

The race director and event staff have the right to cancel the event due to extreme weather conditions or other emergency situations. In cases of extreme weather, the decision will be made by 7:00AM on the morning of the event. News will be made available in the electronic media and through social media networks. Should the event be cancelled, delayed, or reformatted due to weather conditions or other emergencies, there are no refunds.

Select at least 5 friends and create a team! You can have as many people on your team as you want. There are many types of teams among the participants of the Race Away from Domestic Violence. Some are friends and family who are celebrating the lives of survivors or victims of abuse. Others are groups of employees who enjoy being together and come out for a 3.1 mile morning walk. Still others are race fans who like a nice run and might be training for something longer. Whatever your group, you'll have a fun time at the ICADV race. Join us for a walking or running "tour" of downtown Indy and raise money for the work to prevent and eliminate domestic violence.
