Come out and join us for the Fourth Annual "Give It Away 5K" Lorrie Shetterly Memorial Event - on Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Water Works Park (back loop) in Des Moines, Iowa.

The event is open to the public. Strollers are welcome for the run or walk. Please line up behind runners.

Proceeds Benefit:
All proceeds generated from this event will be donated to support the Comfort Therapies provided by UnityPoint Hospice. Comfort Therapies include massage, music, art and pet therapy. These therapies enrich the lives of individuals and families receiving end of life care in their homes or in-patient facilities.

Participants may pick up race packets on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 3:00-6:00 PM at:

This event will occur rain or shine. We reserve the right to cancel only in extreme weather circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds. Your registration fee will be used as a donation to UnityPoint Hospice.

Water Works Park is located on the southwest side of downtown Des Moines. The park entrance is located on Fleur Drive, directly across from Gray's Lake. Parking is available on-site. The races will be in the back loop near the Killdeer shelter.

There will be a water station at the 2 mile marker for the 5K race. Refreshments and snacks will be available at the finish.

Lorrie Shetterly passed away on June 21, 2011. Her legacy is one of family, friendship, service, caring, compassion, and love.

The purpose of this event is to honor that legacy by providing an opportunity for friends and family to come together and have fun, while raising funds for a great cause.
