River Action's Floatzilla - 2017

  • Ben Butterworth - launch times: 7:00 - 9:00
    Advanced Paddlers: Launch from Ben Butterworth Pkwy. in Moline, IL for an extended paddle. This route requires locking-through Lock & Dam 15 or portaging over Sylvan Island. (9 miles, 3-4 hours) Limited to 400 Paddlers.

  • Empire Park - launch times: 7:00 - 8:30
    Advanced Paddlers: Launch your boat at Empire Park, East Moline, IL for an extended paddle that locks through at Lock and Dam 15. (12 miles w/estimated paddle time of 3-4 hours)

  • Moline Rowing Club - launch times: 8:00 - 10:00
    at the foot of 17th street in Moline (or 100 17th Street, Moline)

  • Main Street - launch times: 9:00 - 11:30
    "Intermediate Paddlers: Launch your boat at MainStreet, Davenport, IA for ashort paddle on the Mississippi River. (3-mile route w/ est. paddle time of1.5 hours - RIVER CROSSING REQUIRED)

  • Marquette Street - launch times: 9:00 - 11:30
    Intermediate Paddlers: Launch your boat at Marquette Street, Davenport, IA for a short paddle on the Mississippi River. (2-mile route w/ est. paddle time of 1 hour - RIVER CROSSING REQUIRED)

  • Credit Island, Davenport - launch times: 10:00 - 1:00
    Intermediate Paddlers: Launch your boat at Credit Island for 0.5 mile paddle across the Mississippi River. (1/2 -mile route w/ est. paddle time of 30 minutes - RIVER CROSSING REQUIRED)

  • Lake Potter @ Sunset Park, Rock Island: Lake only; no river paddling
    Paddlers can register to launch at Lake Potter, the day of the event.
    All Skill levels: launch & paddle on the protected backwaters of Lake Potter

Floatzilla 2017

All registration prices are per person, not per boat.

Reminder! Paddlers can also sign up at Lake Potter on the day of the event.

Guinness World Record breaking attempt for largest flotilla of canoes and kayaks will take place at 2:00 PM in Lake Potter [Mississippi River backwater] at Sunset Park, Rock Island, IL. The current record of 3,150 was achieved by One Square Mile of Hope (USA) in Inlet, New York, USA, on 13 September 2014.The record attempt raised more than $100,000 for the fight against breast cancer.

Registration Includes

One Floazilla t-shirt, commemorative boat sticker, registration wrist band, free parking, and use of the bus shuttle.

T-shirts and boat decals guaranteed for paddlers who register by Aug 5. Shirts and decals are subject to availability for those who register after Aug 5.

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at Lake Potter or Credit Island

Camping

Camping is available Friday and Saturday on Credit Island at 2200 W. River Drive in Davenport. Camping costs $12 per day per tent. Just enter how many tents you''ll be using for each day on your registration.

  • You must provide your own equipment.
  • A limited supply of canoe and kayak rentals are available from regional outfitters; visit www.floatzilla.org/rental for more information.

  • Launch sites are based on the paddler's skill level.
