The Let your Light Shine, Glow in the Dark 5K is being put on by the One Less Orphan Ministry of First Baptist Church in De Queen, Arkansas. In October of 2012, we formed a partnership with Children's HopeChest and a CarePoint in Awassa, Ethiopia, called Enat (which means "Mother"). In developing countries, nearly 80% of illnesses are linked to poor water and sanitation issues.

1 out of every 5 deaths worldwide is due to a water-related disease. One of the needs at our CarePoint is access to clean water for the children and adults in and around our CarePoint. We are using the proceeds of this race to help develop a water system that will provide clean, drinking water to the children, families, and people in/or around our CarePoint.

Participants may pick up their packets beginning at 7 pm onsite OR they may pick up their packets before the race at First Baptist Church in De Queen (1535 W. Collin Ray Drive) OR 10 am-2:00 pm on race day only.

The race will begin and end near the De Queen City Pool (405 N. Lakeside Dr, De
Queen, AR 71832, additional parking can be found across the street at the
Memorial Missionary Baptist Church).

Prizes will be awarded for the overall top 3 runners in both the Glow in the Park Kids Race and the 5K.

Racers are encouraged to go all out!

There will be an award for the racer who shines the brightest!

The finish line will end at a large, downhill slip-n-slide, and the pool is reserved until 10:30 pm (lifeguards on duty) for an after race cool off party!

(Please shower before entering the pool, there are showers and changing areas available at the pool).

The race registration fee is discounted for those under 18!

While we will try our best, T-shirts cannot be guaranteed in your size if your register after August 5th
