Join us Saturday, November 16th, for the 4th Annual Stam Chocolate Charity Run in Des Moines' East Village! Proceeds will benefit the John Stoddard Cancer Care Coordinator Program.

5K participants will receive a fantastic[b] goodie bag[b] when they pick up their registration packet. Participants be given a fabulous Stam [b]TERVIS TUMBLER[b] cup filled with chocolate.

Instead of overall awards and age division categories, the Stam Chocolate Charity Run will award a [b]$10 GIFT CARD[b] to ALL participants to be used at any of the participating event sponsors.

ALL participants will receive Stam Chocolate at the event!

Following the run, the State Historical Society of Iowa will offer free tours so you can enjoy some extended family time! Lunch is available at Baratta's on the top floor and don't forget that you can kick off your holiday shopping in the East Village following the event.

[b]Why John Stoddard[b]
A very close friend of the Stam family was treated for cancer at John Stoddard Cancer Center. Because of their efforts, her treatment and final days were much easier for her and her family. Unfortunately almost everyone is affected by cancer in some way.

Wanting to ensure that this important program continues to benefit those diagnosed with cancer and their family, the Stam's decided to hold an annual event during which families and friends can spend some healthy, fun time together while supporting the John Stoddard Cancer Care Coordinator Program.

[b]4th Annual Stam Event[b]
The Stam Chocolate Charity Run is a family-friendly 5K run and walk. The 5K is not a timed race. Strollers and walkers are welcome.

The 5K will start and finish in front of the State Historical Building on East Locust and will follow an 'out and back' course along East 6th and Martin Luther King Parkway showcasing a the great skyline of downtown Des Moines.

The Kids Run will take place on East Locust in front of the State Historical Building and all of the participants in the Kids Run will receive a special chocolate treat after their run.


[b]Packet Pickup[b]
Packet pick up for the Stam Chocolate Charity Run will take place Friday, November 15 at the Stam location on Ingersoll and will be available Saturday morning before the race from 8 to 9 a.m. inside the State Historical Building.
