General Information: Kick Off Your Summer - Cincinnati Style! |
We are excited that the 17th Annual RGI River Run 5K, which benefits Kicks For Kids (KFK), will once again kickoff the Tri-state's summer running season! Taking place at 9:15 AM on the Saturday (5/25/13) of Memorial Day weekend, the proceeds of the RGI River Run will support KFK's goal of "leveling the playing field" for local children who are challenged physically, mentally or by the environment in which they live.
Last year's RGI River Run proved to be another triumph, with over 1,300 runners/walkers and net proceeds of more than $53,000 -- the second highest amount ever! The total net moneys raised in the first 16 years of our 5K exceed $580,000! To sustain the momentum of our event, affordable pricing and the unique components of the event will once again be featured. Registration and all of the post-race events will occur near the scenic Purple People Bridge; the 5K run/walk will bridge Newport, Covington and Cincinnati; the powerful Special K (for children with special needs), the exciting Children's Fun Run and the unique Parent/Child Teams will once again be offered; live music will be performed; participants will have the chance to win great awards and are registered for the highly anticipated Door Prize Drawing; and each entrant will receive a ticket good for free food and drink at the post-event party at Arnie's on the Levee!
Our goal for the 17th Annual RGI River Run on 5/25/13 is for it to be an enjoyable event that appeals to top runners as well as recreational athletes and families . . . and raises funds for kids in the process. We are confident that on May 25th you will agree that this goal was achieved
