About The Event |
The 13th Annual Capital Striders Loop the Lake run marks the unofficial start of the racing season and is a must-do event for runners of all skill levels.
The flat and fast 8K race will start at 8:00am, making 2+ laps around Gray's Lake at Gray's Lake Park in Des Moines.
Following the 8K, the Little Lakers race, a race for kids ages 0 - 10 will be held at approximately 9:30am.
Unfortunately, due to the number of participants and the narrow trail, we are no longer able to accommodate walkers in the event.
The 8K course is run on a twelve foot wide (in most sections), relatively flat asphalt trail. This race completes two plus loops around the lake.

Awards:
Awards will be given to overall 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 1st Masters; plus to the top 3 places in 10-year age groups through age 70+, male and female.
Only one award per person.
Winners may claim prizes at the designated Awards Table starting at 8:45 AM.
