This is a Team Event

Build your Team, practice your Team Riding, improve Team Confidence, know Team Mates Style, ride Smart & Safely, finish as a Team. You can win as a Team!

You cannot win alone; (Finish time is recorded from the leading edge of the front wheel of the third Team member finishing). You are no faster then the slowest team mate at any particular time during the race!!

One following Support vehicle is allowed, No motor pacing, no interfering or blocking of other teams. Drive far right, allow vehicles to pass. Do Not block road.

All riders on a team wear identical jerseys.
MUST WEAR Helmet while riding bicycle.

Ride Safe, Look where you are riding, ride no closer to your teammate then you feel comfortable.

Bicycles, Classes and Special Categories

Must be no more then 2 meters long and 75 cm wide and must have a working brake on each wheel. Basically a Road, Time Trial or Triathlon bike is acceptable.

Special Eddy Merckx Category
(not a FIAC National Championship)
No Aero Bars, Disc wheels, high-profile wheels (38 mm max. rim depth), or TT Framesets.

If only one team is registered in a Race Class then they will be combined with another Race Class. (Riders on age group team must be at least the minimum Racing age specified for that age group. Teams may consist of any make up of Men or Women except Women classes are for Women only)

Starting Times

Start times are assigned in order of postmark or online date and lastly day of event. At 8:31am and following teams at two-minute intervals thereafter.

Awards

To win FIAC or ABR National Jersey and Medals all riders on a Team MUST be an Annual member of ONE of these organizations: ABR, ACA, CBR or OBRA. ABR Annual membership is available Online, by mail or day of event. Will be valid through 2012. ABR Annual membership is $25 and $10 for Juniors age 18 and under.


1st Place: National Championship jerseys and award medals each class.

2nd through 5th Place award medals.

Fastest Team prizes are open to all Race Classes, annual and one day members.

Fastest Team (from any race class) cash prize:
1st $240, 2nd $200, 3rd $160, 4th $140, 5th $120, 6th $100, 7th $80

Fastest Women Team (all riders on Team must be Women) cash prize: 1st $240, 2nd $200, 3rd $160, 4th $140, 5th $120, 6th $100, 7th $80

NOT allowed are Buses, Motorhomes, Trailers or large Trucks.

Directions

Take Interstate 80 to Ottawa exit - IL-23. Go south on IL-23 approximately 10 miles to N 18th Rd, turn right (west) 7.5 miles to E 950th Rd turn left (south) through Leonore go 1 mile South to SS Peter & Paul Parish at 957 N 17th Rd. From North or South take US I-39 to Exit 41 east IL-18 Streator, go 1/4 mile turn Left (North) onto IL-251, go north 4 miles to N17th Rd, turn right (East) onto N17th Rd go 4.5 miles to SS Peter & Paul Parish at E957th Rd.

Course

Start area is at SS Peter & Paul Parish, 957 N 17th Rd., Tonica, IL 61370. THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO TRAFFIC. Corner Marshal at each turn and two straight through intersection. Finish line is just south of start line. This is an out and back course on mostly flat Illinois farmland roads consisting of asphalt and chip seal road surface in very good condition. Promoter reserves right to adjust course if conditions warrant. Course Map available race day.
