University of Iowa Climbing Competition & Fundraising Event

Climbing and Spandex competition on February 12th / Fundraiser event on February 13th. To print off information and donation forms go to http://recserv.uiowa.edu/Apps/Programs/TouchTheEarth.aspx and click on the climbing comp tab.

Subdivision in climbing category:
o Youth (ages 12 and below)
o Beginner (best top rope onsight 5.8)
o Intermediate (best top rope onsight 5.10)
o Advanced (best top rope onsight 5.12+)
Subdivision in spandex category:
Craziest, most unrestrained spandex outfit wins
Competition participants are encouraged to donate.

. Fundraiser event: Donation amounts or set donations for each summit of the climbing wall are accepted. All proceeds will be donated to the American Foundation for Children with AIDS, an organization that provides critical medications, medical equipment, nutritional supplements, and any other supplies necessary to support children dealing with HIV+/AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa.
. Competition: red-point format
Prizes to be awarded to top finishers, in climbing and spandex category

. Fee:
Competition pre-registration fee: $20 per-participant (includes valentine comp packet, guaranteed a t-shirt)
Competition day of registration fee: $28 per-participant
(includes valentine comp packet, t-shirt not guaranteed)
Competition participants are encouraged to donate.

Fundraiser fee: $25 per-participant (if collecting donations make sure to fill out the donation form as donations are collected. The form can be found at http://recserv.uiowa.edu/Apps/Programs/TouchTheEarth.aspx
under the climbing comp tab. all donations are to be in cash or check only and can be sent by mail, along with the donation form, to Dave Patton, Recreational Services, E230 CRWC, Iowa City, IA 52242 or they can be collected the day of the event. T-shirt only guaranteed if registered before January 27th). Make donation checks out to "The American Foundation for Children with AIDS."

. Competition Schedule:
February 12th report to the registration table, located inside the main door, by 8:30am (day of registrants) or by 9:30am (pre-registered participants) to receive t-shirts and comp info packets.
. Fundraiser Schedule:
February 13th report to the registration table, located inside the main door, no later than 11:45am.

Registration begins at 8am -- Competition begins at 10am
. Fundraiser: Sunday, February 13th, 2011
Registration begins at 11am - Fundraiser begins at 12pm

University of Iowa Campus Recreation and Wellness Center
309 S. Madison Street Iowa City, IA.
The building is located on the southwest corner of Burlington and Maidson Streets. Parking is available one block southeast.
