City of Sherman Rescue Run 5k

The top three finishers in the following four categories will be awarded $150, $100, and $50 respectively:

Overall Female
Masters Male
Masters Female

Top male and female runners that run with a dog win
$50.

The 5K course is certified by TAC (#TX 04055) for accuracy. It is also flat, giving runners a chance for a fast time. It includes Sherman's Heritage Row of Victorian Homes, so enjoy the view if you aren't moving too fast.

Awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, place for men and women in each age group.

Age Groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & up. Masters include all 5K runners age 40 & up.

Attractive, long-sleeved T-Shirts for participants.

Registration & Check-In: 7:00 am
Fun Run Start: 8:30 am
5K Start: 9:00 am

Packet pickup will be available race morning only. Race day registration will be available for $20.

Healthy things to eat and drink before and after the race for all runners.
Also, everyone who comes out will be welcome to free hot dogs.

Water provided at the 2 mile mark. Time splits given at the 1 and 2 mile marks.

The Sherman Animal Shelter's mobile adoption trailer will be on hand, loaded with adorable dogs and cats that are looking for a good home. Adoption fees will be waived for any pet adopted at the race. The adoptable pets will already have their veterinarian exam, current shots, and be neutered.

The proceeds from this fun event support the Sherman Animal Shelter adoption program.

ChampionChip timing will be used at this event. Chips may be picked up on race day near the registration table with your number. You must wear a chip to be timed and eligible for awards. Chips must be surrendered before leaving the finish area.
