Who Can Participate? |
Wagon Walk was created for walkers of all ages, even those who are still toddling! Most of all, it's for people who believe in and support foster families.
- Individuals
- Families & Foster Families
- Corporate or Social Teams
- Public and Private Foster Care Organizations
Who Can't Participate? |
Unfortunately, our four-legged family members need to sit this one out, unless you have a service dog. Also, only wagons and strollers are allowed. No bikes, roller blade or skateboards, please.
Who Benefits? |
The funds generated from entry fees and sponsorships go to support North Texas Foster Families in three specific ways:
Heart Gallery
Heart Gallery is a beautifully photographed gallery of foster children who are eligible for adoption. Each child's portrait is photographed and mounted professionally on quality canvas, and displayed at participating businesses, churches, and public areas. Since its inception just a few years ago, more than 25 children have been adopted.
Foster Parent Association of Texas Scholarship Fund
How many foster families do you know? Can you imagine the challenge of sending everyone to college? A portion of Wagon Walk proceeds will go directly to the FPA of Texas to help Foster moms and dads send their children, both foster and biological, to any school of their choice.
Foster Family Recruitment
Change for today and Tomorrow (C4t2) is the Regional Foster Youth and Alumni group that provides ongoing support, training and leadership for children (fourteen years and above) and foster youth alumnae. A portion of the Wagon Walk proceeds will go directly to C4t2 to help foster children and alumnae as they transition from the
foster care system.
