TATUR's Reckless Redneck Downhill Mile

This is a point to point one mile downhill most of the way race. It will start at the top of the steep hill at Elwood drive & W. 61st St. The race will be all on the street which will be closed down.

Entrants will barrel down Elwood and turn left into the Turkey Mtn parking lot. From there they will go on the new paved trail and proceed down another hill till they get down to the railroad tracks. Entrants will receive $3 disc. to those who pledge to dress up in their best redneck garb including "Billy Bob" teeth, overalls, unlit cigs, wigs and other redneck garb. Steep downhills, Extremely FAST course.

WARNING !!! The first 1/4 mile of this race in an extremely steep downhill descent. Many of you will need to "put the brakes on" as you must have extremely strong legs to be able to run down this hill at full speed.

WARNING !!! 100 runners will be going down this hill at the same time. If you step on someone's foot and fall...you will could roll for some distance before stopping. We will have medical personnel on hand to dig gravel out of kneecaps if need be.

WARNING !!! What ever you do....DO NOT STOP OR SLOW DOWN during the beginning of this race !! If you are a slower runner you will not be permitted to start near the front of the pack. Walker must start at the back of the pack.

WARNING !!! It is possible to pull a hamstring or other muscles if you attempt to run this hill at full speed. Trail runners refer to the trail that parallels the Elwood Hill "Lip Buster" It is named that for a reason. Please use caution when running down this hill.
