Race Day Schedule |
7:45 am to 8:25am: Race day registration ($20) and check-in
8:15 am: 1/2 mile fun run
8:30 am: 5k walk and health run
Post-Race Party: Be sure to stick around for food from Chuck Ashely Event & Catering and music from Voices of America Chuck Kesilman Party supplies will be provided by our wonderful sponsors. Come out and have some fun.

Awards |
All pre-registered participants will receive an official 100% cotton 2009 Violet Run t-shirt. First place overall male and female will receive a Special Prize and Trophy. Trophies and medals will be awarded. Come out & start your spring morning with music, good will and help stop violence today with friends & family.

Packet Pick-Up |
You may pick your race packet up early at Sportspectrum, starting Thursday May 21 and Friday, May 22 from 12 noon to 6:00 pm, and at the race site Saturday morning from 7:45 to 8:25am.

About the Event |
V.I.O.L.E.T. Run - Violence In Our Lives Ends Today - Presented by the YMCA of NW LA Families and Friends.
Our Hope is to raise awareness about violence, and unite for a Better Quality of Life for NW LA. In 12 seconds a woman in this country will be battered. Within the hour, another 75 women will be raped. This week 70 children will die at the hands of their parents. In your and my lifetime, 1 in 3 women will be sexually assaulted, as well as 1 in 9 men. Grim as these statistics are, they are the facts.
