Reading Bridal District Runaway Bride 5k

Awards will be presented to the top overall male and female runners (Top Bride and Groom), top overall male/female team (Top Couple) and top overall male and female walkers (Walking Down the Aisle category).

Additionally, the top 3 runners and walkers in each age division will receive an award.

Team Category: To compete in the Top Couple category, you must have a male/female team.

Senior Olympics participants, please note: Although awards on race day will be presented in the above age divisions, we will break down and list results in 5 year increments beyond 50+ for the Senior Olympics competitions.

The Reading Bridal District is hosting the 3rd Annual Runaway Bride 5k to showcase all that the District has to offer brides and their wedding parties. This unique event will allow people to enjoy the District's charming ambiance and the distinctive shopping experience it has to offer, in an exclusive environment unlike any other in the nation! The 5K will also allow people enjoy the District in a fun and extraordinary way, with samplings and open houses.

Location: Benson Street in the Reading Bridal District

Distance: This 5k course (3.1 miles) is sanctioned by USA Track & Field, the official governing body of running and racewalking.

Course: This scenic course will begin and end on Benson Street and travel through some quaint areas of the City of Reading.

Men: Junior Groomsmen (18 and under), Grooms (19-29), Groomsmen (30-39), Best Men (40-49), Fathers of the Bride (50-59) and Grandfathers of the Bride (60+)

Women: Junior Bridesmaids (18 and under), Brides (19-29), Bridesmaids (30-39) Matrons of Honor (40-49), Mothers of the Bride (50-59), Grandmothers of the Bride (60+)

Special Prizes
Be sure to dress the part! Additional awards will be presented to the Best Dressed in the following categories: Bride, Groom, and Bridesmaids.

New this year--each paid participant will receive a complementary pancake breakfast after the race. Breakfast will be served in the European Bridal parking lot on Benson Street.

Breakfast includes pancakes (all you can eat!), sausage links, fruit, coffee and juice.

Additional tickets for friends and family may be purchased on race morning. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for kids (10 and under).

Pre-Registration: Pre-registration is $25 and includes a t-shirt and a pancake breakfast after the race. Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 14.

Late Registration: Registration on race day is $30 and includes a t-shirt and a pancake breakfast after the race. Race day registration begins at 7:30 a.m. at 320 W. Benson Street, in front of Party in A Package.

Team Registration: Team registration is $50 pre-registration and $60 on race day. Please enter your team name on the form and register together on the same form.

New this year--the Reading Kid's Run Run! Be sure to bring your children. This event is for all children ages 12 and under.

Time: 10:00 a.m.
Location: 320 W. Benson Street near the 5K finish line
Cost: FREE!
Prizes: Each child will receive a finishers ribbon
Distances: Races will be done in a series of heats based on age.
Distances will vary by age. The longest distance is 100 yards.

Each child must be individually registered. Because this event is free, online registration is not available. To receive an entry form, please email Kelly Weissmann at coprdog@fuse.net. Entry forms will also be available on race morning from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at 320 W. Benson Street, in front of Party in A Package.

Also, be sure to visit the other booths for kids. All activities are free and include a moonbounce, face painters and carnival-type games.

Please donate prom and/or bridesmaid dresses to Kenzie's CLOSET.

This race benefits Kenzie's CLOSET, a nonprofit organization located at 2010 Madison Road in O'Bryonville.

Kenzie's CLOSET makes high school prom dresses and related accessories available to students who can't afford them so that no young woman in Cincinnati will have to miss her prom because of family financial limitations.

Please bring items with you on race day. Also accepted--shoes, jewelry and any other accessories.
