Paddlemania in Carrollton |
A day of fun in the great outdoors that will bring the community together to champion seniors and caregivers in Addison, Carrollton, Coppell and Farmers Branch.
Whether you are a runner or a paddler, or just want to enjoy the celebration, come join the fun on April 18, 2009 from 8 AM - 4 PM (located at McInnish Park Sports Complex, 2340 Sandy Lake Rd.).
Paddlemania brings young and old alike together to demonstrate their skills, enjoy the outdoors and honor the generations of the past in a spirit of celebration in Carrolton TX. Proceeds from the event will benefit Senior Adult Services whose mission is to improve the lives of seniors and caregivers facing the challenges of aging.
The Senior Sprint: A competitively timed 5K and Fun Run through the McInnish Park Area, providing tons of running fun for everyone.
Dragon Boat Races: Featuring a limit of 24 teams each comprised of 20 paddlers, a drummer and a steerperson, who compete throughout the day for the coveted title of top "Paddlemaniac."
Celebration Station: A meeting place for participants and spectators to share in refreshments, activities and entertainment, while swapping stories about the events of the day.

7:30 AM: Registration/packet pick-up for Senior Sprint 5K and Fun Run
8:15 AM: Celebration Station Opens
8:30 AM: Timed 5K start
9:15 AM: Fun/Run
9:45 AM: Awards for 5K
10:00 AM: Dragon Boat Races begin; (4) boats run each heat
10:30 AM: Jurassic Rock on stage
3:00 PM: (Approximately) Races End, Awards for Paddlemania

Awards |
5K: Awards will be based on chip time and will be given to the top male and female finishers in age brackets: 12 and under; 13-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+.
Participants receive a t-shirt and goody bag.
Dragon Boat races:
Registered participants will receive a t-shirt, goody bag and compete for the top position of the day. Top finishers will receive medals with a special trophy going to the winning team.

Packet Pick Up |
Early packet pick up will be Thursday, April 16, 2009 from 5pm - 7pm at Chick-fil-A in Carrollton, 2652 Old Denton Road, 75007. Packet pick up also the morning of the event at McInnish Park.
