Girls on the Run Fall 5K

Feel good AND help a great cause! The Fall GOTR 5k will serve as the end of season race for our Girls on the Run program. We welcome all runners and walkers of every age and ability to join us for this fun event!

In 2008, Girls on the Run reached approximately 700 local girls with positive messages of self-respect and healthy living. In addition to becoming more physically fit, the girls learned the importance of setting goals, working hard, and believing in themselves. With over 60% of local families requiring scholarships, we need your support so we never have to turn a girl away.

We invite you to make a difference and spread awareness of Girls on the Run by creating your own personal GOTR fundraising page. In addition to "telling your own girl story" and raising awareness of our cause, you can invite people to help you sponsor a local girl. We believe ALL girls can benefit about feeling better about themselves and their bodies. Please help us continue to make this program available to all girls with interest.

$10 - $150:
The cost of the program is $150, but we typically offer it on a sliding scale from $10-$150 based on the income of the family. This includes 24 one-hour lessons, New Balance running shoes, water bottle, journal, GOTR t-shirt, healthy snacks after every lesson, 5k race entry, goodie bag, race t-shirt, finisher's medal, team photo, end of the season party, and more! We ask all families to "pay what they can" so our scholarship dollars can go towards the families that need it most. While we have some families that can pay the full amount, most require partial or even full scholarship to participate. ANY amount you raise (even if it is $10) can help us to reach more local girls, so please spread the word!

All race proceeds will benefit Girls on the Run of Cincinnati, a non-profit prevention program that encourages pre-teen girls to develop self-respect and healthy lifestyles through running and walking.

5k Run/Walk Price:
$15: Prior to November 14th
$20: Prior to November 20th
$20: November 21st, at New Balance Cincinnati
$25: Race Day

* Girls on the Run Alumni get a $5 discount (girls only)

All 5k runners and walkers will receive:
- GOTR race t-shirt
- Post-race food and drink
- Chance to win various raffle prizes
- Ability to join over 300 pre-teen girls in their first 5k accomplishment!

NOTE: There will be a clock at the start/finish of the race, but runners will be responsible for their own individual timing results.

All children will receive a GOTR medal when they cross the finish.

Come at 9:00 AM to meet 2008 Olympian & Gold Medalist Mary Wineberg!! She will be there to cheer on the girls AND you!

Girls on the Run is a nationally successful life-changing character development program reaching over 45,000 girls nationally each year. Our non-competitive program combines physical activity (running/walking) and experiential learning through a nationally recognized psychology-based curriculum. Each lesson is designed to teach very specific and well-defined social and personal character development skills through the use of running and walking games.
