Race for Research 5k

Race for Research is a fun/run/walk organized in memory of Michele Plachy-Rubin. Michele was diagnosed with brain cancer in December, 1996. Michele fought the disease valiantly but, tragically, lost her fight in May of 1998. Michele's friends and family continue her fight against cancer through the Race for Research. All proceeds from the Race for Research will be donated to the Cancer League of Colorado. Please help us find a cure for cancer in Michele's memory by participating in the Eleventh Annual Race for Research.

Race day registration: 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM ($25 for adults, $20 for ages 12 & under, $75 family rate for 2 adults and 2 children, each additional child is $7)
5k run begins: 8:00 AM
5k walk begins: 8:05 AM
Awards Ceremony: 9:45 AM

Awards
Prizes will be given to the top two male and female finishers in bot the 5k Run and Walk. Medals will be given to the top two finishers* in each of the following age groups: 12 & under, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

*Top male/female finshers in overall event will receive a trophy. IF you wish to be officially timed you MUST go to the registration/chip pick up tables on race morning, present your bib number, and receive your chip. The first 500 will be guaranteed a timing chip if requested. NO CHIP, NO TIME!

Tag Timing
Please indicate on the entry form whether or not you wish to be timed. Timed participants will be given an "official" race time. You MUST pick up your timing chip on event morning only at the "Tag Pick-Up Tents". You must wear the ankle chip bracelet during the race and return it at the finish line. Participants will be charged $20 for all unreturned chips. Non-timed participants can use the clock provided at the finish line.

Bibs/T-shirts
Bibs and T-shirts will be available at the registration area on race day.

Parking
Parking is available on the streets surrounding the park in South Side High School's parking lot and on side streets. No parking is available in the park.

Beginning on July 30 through August 23, you can register and receive your race bib and T-shirt at the following locations:
