Fall City Days Fun Run 5k/10k

19th Annual Fall City Days Fun Run
June 14, 2008

Just 25 minutes east of Seattle in the beautiful Snoqualmie Valley. A flat, fast race, computerized chip timing, USATF certified.

Proceeds benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation and Mount Si High School students and staff through Wildcat Inspiration Network WIN.

7:30am Day of Race registration ($25 for adults/$20 for ages 14 and under, not including t-shirt) opens in Olive Taylor Quigley Park

8:45am First call to start

9:00am Races Start: 10K, 5K, 5K walk

9:15am Post race refreshment area opens for registered walkers and runners only; bottled water, fresh fruit, sports drink and frozen treats from Farmhouse Family Market, and fresh baked goods.

10:30am End of race. All participants must finish by 10:30am

10:35am Awards Ceremony & Random Prizes drawing (see prize list for details) and Make-A-Wish Foundation presentation.

Awards: 1st place Male and Female finisher overall for 5K and 10K races. Ribbons to top 3 finishers in each division. FootZone Gift Certificate to 1st place in each division. Age group winners are eligible for overall awards. Sorry, we do not offer a competitive category for walkers.

Divisions: 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over

Prizes: Everyone has a chance to win. Must be present to win and show official race number as ID to claim prize. Competitive awards and random prizes awarded immediately following race.

T-Shirts: In-store, mail-in, and online pre-registrants will receive a short sleeve 100% cotton T-shirt (if purchased for $5) at the pre-registration area on day of race. Shirt availability cannot be guaranteed for day of race registrants.

Additional commemorative Fall City Days 2008 T-shirts, hats and mugs available on day of race.

USATF Certified 5K (WA06018-BL) and 10K (WA06019-BL) beautiful flat, country course. No hills. Paved roads, no traffic. Start line in Fall City at Olive Taylor Quigley Park. Runners travel east to Snoqualmie River and follow along Neal Road. 5K and 10K turns include water stations. Split time callers are stationed at the 1 mile mark and both turn-arounds. Please no Pets!

The Fall City Days Fun Run is part of a 3-race series designed to showcase the natural beauty of the Snoqualmie Valley and attract more top runners to the great summer races here. Other races in the series are the Duvall days Run (5K & 10K) June 7, and the Carnation Run for the Pies (5K) on July 4th. There will be one Male and one Female winner - each to receive a trophy cup, $200 cash prize and free entry into all three runs next year.

Additionally, there will be a lottery drawing from all 3 race participant lists. Lottery winner will receive a $50 cash prize!

Hwy 202 in Fall City is closed for Fall City Days. Parking & Detour signs will be posted.
From 1-90: Take the Preston-Fall City Exit #22. Follow Preston-Fall City Rd 3.5 miles to Fall City. Take left on SE 43rd Pl and follow "detour" and "race parking" signs to Chief Kanim Middle School.

From 520: Take Redmond-Fall City Rd/Hwy 202 Exit. Follow to the right for 14 miles to Fall City. Follow "race parking" signs past detour at 324th Ave SE. Parking on right at Chief Kanim Middle School.

From HWY 203 Carnation: Parking available at King County Parking lot on right prior to entering Fall City. All parking is approximately 5 minute walk to Start.

The event is timed using the IPICO Timing System. Participants must wear a Timing Tag on their shoe in order to receive results. Tags must be returned at the finish line or a $30 replacement fee will be assessed from the Timing Company. Tags will be distributed on race day along with assigned bib number at the pre-registered packet pickup.

Results will be posted at the finish line following the race and in Northwest Runner Magazine.

Fall City Days Fun Run helps make a difference in the life of a needy child. A $5 donation is made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska, N. Idaho, Montana and Washington for every paid participant.

Event proceeds are donated directly to local Snoqualmie Valley schools by Fall City Days Fun Run and support school programs in academics, arts, educational activities and athletics.


2007 was a Huge Success:

The Fall City Days Fun Run committee is proud to announce that all profits from last year's race were distributed as grants to local organizations.

The two organizations benefiting from last year's grants are Mount Si High School and Make a Wish Foundation.

The high school's parent organization received $6,250 while Make a Wish Foundation was given $4,166 directly from the race proceeds.
